Fate Accelerated Pricing
We've looked at the numbers, crunched some spreadsheets, and come to a disturbing conclusion about Fate Accelerated.
We'll only need to charge you $5 for a physical copy.

I know.
I mean...
I know, right? It's true!
We want Fate Accelerated to be the fastest way for someone to pick up and play Fate. And what's a faster way to do that than a really low price?
If you want to add a physical copy of Fate Accelerated Edition to your physical book pledge, you only need to add $5 to your existing pledge level.
The usual shipping caveats apply: you'll want to add a separate shipping charge (see the Big Blue Box) if you want to be sure that Core and Accelerated reach you as soon as they're available instead of one waiting on the other. We may be able to get Accelerated written, edited, laid out, art-ed, and printed by the same time as Fate Core, but we can't guarantee it -- that's a lot to catch up on, even if it is slated to be only a tenth of the size of Core.
For those of you who only want Accelerated, we're adding USA and International tiers for those, with the pricing bumped up a bit to make sure we can afford to include the EXPANSIONS content along with the super-cheap book and its shipping costs.
Completists who want one of every physical book we can offer through this Kickstarter will be pleased to note we've added QUARTET reward levels too.
CONSULTATION folks need add nothing -- we're planning on sending one of each physical book to all of our CONSULTATION pledgers at no added cost. If you want *more* than one copy of those books, tho, increase your pledge for the additionals!
If you're wondering how we'll know (oh, we'll know) *what* you've added to your pledge: that's something we ask you after the Kickstarter ends, through Kickstarter's surveying method. You'll hear from us about those details in February, once all the payments actually happen and go through.
Thanks everyone who has made Fate Accelerated a possibility -- we wouldn't be able to afford this pricing if y'all hadn't funded the goal the way you did. But given your obvious excitement and support for the idea, we just had to make it work.

Martin: Add $5. That'll mean both books are shipped to you in one shipment when both are ready. If you want FAE shipped separately, you'd need to add $15 as an international customer looking for a second shipment, as described in the Big Blue Box on the front page of the project.

Okay: possibly a stupid question but I'm new to the whole kickstarter thing.
I want the quartet, which is 85 because I'm in the USA.
I want two shipments: Core and Accelerated ASAP and then Toolkit and Worlds whenever. So that's ONE extra shipment so that's 90.
But how do you guys know that. It didn't ask me how I wanted it shipped. Can I expect an email about it when the kickstarter funds? Is that how that works?

Philippe - I think you're international so I'd label the $10 as "for an international shipment", but otherwise your labels are correct, which should mean your math is too. :)
Gary - It's a toss-up as to whether the Toolkit or the Worlds book would be the last ones. If I were to guess as to a sequence of events, I'd *probably* guess Core, Accelerated, Toolkit, Worlds, but the last two could swap position easily due to variables I can't anticipate.
Jason, everyone in the world will get a PDF version of Fate Accelerated, as explained in its original announcement.

@Fred - I'm just trying to figure out how much shipping to include. I really want the Core book and Toolkit to ship as soon as they are ready. IF the toolkit is likely to be the last thing finished, the only one extra shipment should be needed (One core shipment, plus one shipment of everything else). If the toolkit isn't the last one done, that will be two extra shipments (One core, one Toolkit and whatever else is done by then, one last shipment of whatever is left).
So do you have some idea of whether the Toolkit would be likely the last physical book finished or not?

As to "is it a player's handbook" -- not precisely, though it can work as one easily. It'll have a different skill list in it, and won't list every part of everything you can do in Core, but it'll introduce all the concepts very neatly. It's stand-alone playable by itself.

Murder, that's exactly what we implied here. You don't *have* to add separate shipping for it. It'll just go into whatever 'next available' shipment you've got coming amongst the physical books you're already getting, without that added shipping cost. If you're only getting one shipment and Accelerated isn't ready when the other parts are, tho, it'd be delayed. That's all about speed vs. cost, simple as that.

Wow, FATE Accelerated is not really a good deal for international customers... I'd have to pay $20 to get one copy shipped separately, on top of everything else I'd like to have shipped separately. :(
So, I have a couple of questions:
1) Would it be possible to just add pledge for FATE Accelerated and have it shipped either with the Extras Toolbox or the Expansion book? I don't want FATE Core held up at all, but I could wait for FAE.
2) Could FAE serve as a Players' Handbook to go along with FATE Core? So that I could just grap copies of FAE for the players and myself work from the FATE Core book?
