About this project

A positive feedback mechanism for wasting company time on the Internet.

Step #1: Users install the freely available 9 to 5 Brow$er Firefox plugin.
Step #2: User enters the amount of money he/she makes at work in the preferences.
Step #3: Every time a user opens FireFox the 9-to-5 Brow$er plugin keeps a running tally of how much company money is wasted by surfing the web (based on user salary information set in the preferences).
Step #4: Add a little bit more pleasure to your day in the cubical by knowing exactly how much they are paying you to surf the web.
Step #5: In the event a user is in danger of being discovered with the 9-to-5-Brow$er they can hit the one click self destruct button in the bottom right corner of the browser to quickly remove all evidence.

Evan Roth

Evan Roth (aka fi5e) is an artist with interests in technology, tools of empowerment, open source, and popular culture. Whether working in public space as a co-founder of the Graffiti Research Lab, or working on the Internet with strangers to create the White Glove Tracking project, Roth's work aims to inject open and free ideals into the public sphere.

Roth's projects have shown at the Sundance Film Festival, the Moma, the Tate Modern, the New Museum, and on BET. Evan's work has been published in the New York Times, Time magazine, Rolling Sone, and Esquire, and is the number one return for the google search "bad ass mother fucker".
