• What are the advantages of using the iLook360 over just using mirrors?

  a) No blind spots - see a 170-deg panoramic view directly behind you.

  b) You only need to slightly glance up at the viewer, located in your forward peripheral vision, not to two (or more) different mirrors which are typically located outside of your peripheral vision.

  c) The iLook360 is isolated from the vibrations that your vehicle may experience which prevents a clear mirror image.

  d) The iLook360 provides rear-view for the many activities where there is no vehicle to mount the mirrors on.

• What specific head-worn gear can the iLook360 be used with?

  Our universal mounting design allows the iLook360 system to be used with the following head-worn gear:

  a) Bicycle vented helmets

  b) Beanie-style helmets

  c) Hats & visors

  d) Full-wrap motorcycle helmets (micro-viewer behind windscreen)

  e) Multi-purpose recreational helmets (skate, snow, climb, etc.) with and without a duck-bill mini-visor.

  f) Fireman helmets

  g) Hardhats

• Does the iLook360 block my forward or side vision?

  If worn properly, not at all.  The micro heads-up near-to-eye display is designed to be mounted so that it is just above, and slightly to the right of your right eye.  So, when you glance at it, it will appear like it would if driving a car… just about in that same position.   Your forward and side vision should not be impacted.

• Can the iLook360 be used as a camera?

  No.  Currently, there is no recording electronics or media integrated into the iLook360.  However, we do plan to integrate recordable audio/video capabilities into future models.

• What colors do the iLook360 come in?

  The iLook360 initially will be available in black.  We will be polling our community of users through our website for potential color choices for future models.   If volume demand is high enough, we will produce limited color choices based on this input.

• Can the iLook360 be used with sunglasses, eyeglasses and goggles?

  Absolutely if positioned correctly.  The frame of your eyewear becomes somewhat blurred because it is inside the normal vision focal point; however, we designed the near-to-eye viewer to appear in-focus.

• Can extra mounts be purchased separately?

  Absolutely.  They will be available for purchase on our web-site eCommerce engine as soon as possible, but sometime in the summer of 2012.

• What other accessories will be available?

  We haven’t fully decided on all the accessories that will be available for separate purchase; however, we anticipate that we will have the following:

  a) Extra and special mounts for numerous types of head-worn gear

  b) Additional adhesive and mounting supplies

  c) Spare AC and car/motorcycle travel chargers

  d) Hard and soft storage/travel cases

  e) Auxiliary solar/battery power supply

  f) iLook360 hats, T-shirts and other related wear

• Can the iLook360 be worn in inclement weather?

  Absolutely.  It is designed to be tough under most environmental conditions.

• Is the included charger AC or USB?

  The included charger is an AC wall charger with a detachable USB cable so that you can also connect it to a computer for changing without the AC adapter.

• Will transferring the iLook360 between hats/helmets affect the finish of my hat/helmets?

  It shouldn’t.  We are carefully selecting very strong adhesives for the helmets that are also relatively easy to remove if you want to detach the mount.   You can also use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) to help remove any excess adhesive residue that might remain after mount removal.

  For hats and visors, there are no adhesives used whatsoever.   There is a clip for the visor, and a washable magnetic pressure flap used for the image-capture unit.  Both are easily removed and designed to leave no trace.

• Can the iLook360 be used under water?

  The iLook360 can be used in heavy rain or snow; however, it is not waterproof, therefore, not designed for underwater use.  If we see that there is demand for an iLook360 for sailing, surfing and other water sports, we may undertake designing a future model that is completely waterproof certified.

• Is there a cable between the display and image-capture assembly or is it wireless? Where does the cable go?

  There is a thin cable that is easily hidden inside the helmet/hat, or along the rim, with included small clips and cable-management dot-adhesives.

  Wireless ultra-real-time streaming video-data from the image-capture assembly to the viewer is currently not feasible with current technology due to power constraints. In fact, there would then have to be two power supplies and we feel that the entire system would simply be too heavy to wear comfortably. We plan to continue investigating a wireless solution as semiconductor, display, wireless, and battery technologies advance.
