About this project

I want to help boutique owners and buyers to be able to offer you awesome jewelry! A trade show will play a vital roll in accomplishing this, since the majority of boutique owners attend trade shows to find their wares. Supporting my project means supporting the arts, supporting small business, saying "no!" to mass-produced, and supporting the pursuit of a dream.

I plan to attend the Buyers Market of American Craft because of their dedication to artists and craftspeople. This trade show is unique in that it is exclusively for hand-made items produced by studio artists in the U.S. and Canada. Because of this unique aspect, it attracts buyers who appreciate the quality of hand-made. I visited this show a couple of years ago just to check it out and knew that I wanted to bring my jewelry there one day. The biggest obstacle has been saving up enough money for this, due to being a 1-woman show who does this full-time. I'm ready in every other way, and this is my chance to make this dream a reality!

The first step of my project will be to create an eye-catching booth. A great display that also packs up and travels easily can be quite pricey, so that is where a portion of the money I raise will go. Once I have the booth set-up, the rest of the money will go to the costs of attending the show, including booth fees, marketing materials, and some travel expenses.

What is Esma Jewelry?

Every piece in the Esma Jewelry line is designed and created by me, Amy Martin. I am self-taught in the art of metalwork and make each piece by hand out of sterling silver and/or copper. I make pieces that I know I would feel comfortable wearing every day. My designs are classic, simple, a bit edgy, and never feel fussy or overdone. The unique details in the textures, shapes, and patina speak to the individuality you want to express to the world. They are the perfect accessories to fit your effortlessly chic style!

I have been selling my jewelry online since 2007. Selling online is great because of the interaction I am able to have with customers all over the world. However, I also know that there is nothing like going into your favorite boutique and being able to touch and try things on, not to mention the instant gratification of being able to take it home that day.
