About this project

Harbinger: Skeleton Crew is a first person sci-fi adventure game for the iOS (iPhone, iPod, iPad). Through a combination of open exploration and simple puzzles, the story of the derelict starship Armada unfolds.

This title looks to show off the full capabilities of the mobile platform with advanced visuals, simple navigation, and an original score. The game does not offer fast pace shooting (or any shooting for that matter), scores of enemies, or quick reflex scenarios. Puzzles are organically integrated into the story-line. I have spent many years developing this story as an animated film but now an interactive adventure seems the best fit for the project.

I will produce all graphics, programming (mostly limited to simple scripting) and musical score for this game.

In order to complete this project, I need some additional hardware, software and most of all TIME. I am an educator and freelance artist. For the most part, If I take extra time to work on an outside project, I do so by taking time out of the work that I do to provide for my family so the time needed to work on this is usually out of the question without help... anyway, enough sob story! A big part of this game will be to benefit my students. In order to complete the game, I will be challenged in some areas where my skills are not as strong and this will benefit the students in my game design and development classes. With limited faculty we often have to leave out some aspects of the design process. This project will help me to add even more quality to the education I provide.

Any funds above the goal amount will be used to upgrade hardware (making my job a bit easier... or at least less frustrating), create free training videos based on the game content, and maybe even to attend a game convention to promote the title.
