Migranes and the FINAL 12 pages! Home stretch, everyone!
HEY THERE FRIENDS, ALLIES, AND BACKERS!

I know it's been a while since you've heard from me. The reason for this is that my migraines reached a completely disabling frequency, and I finally broke under their pressure. I worked lots of extra shifts at work and saved up money to go see several doctors. I received a great deal of help, and discovered that over the past year I've slowly become highly allergic to gluten! In fact, since I stopped eating gluten, my migranes have become rare (which is the most relieving feeling I've ever felt). I could talk about migranes and gluten forever, but instead I'll stop. I'm writing a comic about it on the side, if you are interested.
BUT GUESS WHAT???
ONLY 12 PAGES LEFT! That's right folks, 12 pages of glorious black and white good ol'fashioned comic book left until I send you your completely finished copy of SNOWBIRD! I'm looking to print this book in MARCH, hopefully reaching your doorstep in APRIL. (Funny ,right? I was one complete year off from my estimated date of arrival!! Ahhahahahaha....ha.)
But WAIT, Erin... the story isn't even close to being over! You said you were going to write about so much more than this!
That's right, folks. It's because I'm going to write two books. Woahhhh! Big news, actually. There are many reasons for this- but one of the big reasons is that I had no idea how long a good book actually takes. Not only the length to write it, but the length of pages needed to tell a good story. There are about 250 pages of story I want to write. But these 100 pages are going to close the story of my vulnerabilities, history, and mental health and the next book will be about the story of what happened that winter.
Inbetween writing both books, I'm going to take a 5 month break. I'm going to paint pictures, go on a trip, and then come back for another year of writing. I think it's going to be amazing, you'll see.

Not only that, but STILL, my drawings are better than ever before!
Anyways, I don't want to take up too much of your time. I've got to go keep drawing. Prepare to hear from me soon! It's almost over!!!
love,erin!

I'm just catching up with you on this and hey! It's already March, so great news for me that I won't have to wait much longer to see it! ;) I hope the next time I'm in New Orleans I get to visit with you for more than a minute, but if not, I will always appreciate your map to the chimes in the park <3

Hi Erin,
Glad to hear you are feeling better! After reading your update, i'm wondering if you've considered also offering your backers the second book that is about what happened over the winter in new orleans? Or if that doesn't seem financially feasible, giving people the option to wait for the second book if they are interested in that part of the story. Just a suggestion...
Speaking for myself i can say that i have been SUPER looking forward to seeing your analysis of the situation in New Orleans put into pictures, and so i'm writing this to be encouraging of you keeping on that awesomeness that i know will be wicked useful for lots of folks to hear and see! I also want to acknowledge that i heard you got lots of undue discouragement from people about embarking on telling a story that is any bigger than your own at the beginning of this adventure. I've been concerned about the impacts of that on you feeling comfortable to create this story. Maybe that hasn't been a factor, but if it has, i'm hoping that you can continue to push through that muck.
Just wanted to publicly share my two cents that i super believe in you to do a righteous job of illustrating a viewpoint that will be cherished by many people! Happy introspective healing time! I'm excited to see your next batch of thoughts!
love,
kbar
