About this project

Two years ago I made a record called Chrome in which I enlisted the financial support of fans. That patronage experiment was, by most human standards, a success, with nearly 80% of the overall budget being raised at a time when no "official" platforms such as Kickstarter existed (at least to my knowledge). If you supported the making of that album, THANK YOU!

Here in the year of our Lord, 2011, I am embarking upon a brand new record -- my ninth overall -- with the immensely talented, hard working Ben Shive producing. Ben is jolly good people.

Here's the rub: Making a record was then, and still is, no small investment, either financially or emotionally (but mostly financially). My new album is titled Birds of Relocation, and my goal is to raise $12,000 American dollars. However, realistically, the overall final cost, from Day 1 recording to having final shrink-wrapped physical CD in hand, will be nearer to $18,000 once the producer, studio musicians and contributing artists are paid, and mixing and mastering is complete. Any funds that come in above the $12,000 goal up to $18,000 will go towards making the album. Anything above $18,000 will go towards the ensuing promotion, tour and travel costs involved in Birds of Relocation CD release shows across the country.

As you can see, there are several tiers and incentives to choose from (including a crawfish or crab boil!). I am incredibly grateful that you would consider supporting the making of Birds of Relocation. I am eager for you to hear these bright new songs, to be able to hoist them aloft that they may see and breathe in the gracious light of day.

Thank you in advance for any support you are able & willing to offer. Until then, see you on hope's boughs.

Eric Peters lives in a hole in the ground with his myriad house pets, pair of cackling ganders, and a servant serpent named Musket. Eric spends his days, fireside, sipping cafe au lait while whittling, doodling, or dawdling (in no particular order). He jogs barefoot, and prefers a wildly overgrown lawn.

False.

Eric lives in a quiet historic neighborhood in east Nashville with his wife, Danielle, and their two boys. When he's not on the road playing his music in front of human beings, he writes songs and, every couple of years, records them. When he's not doing that, he changes diapers, folds clothes, tends to his burgeoning lawncare side business and ponders quirky things. Eric enjoys observing birds, manicuring lawns, and eating well-seasoned nachos. He has no love for snakes, but he does love making music that he himself would want to listen to.
