We had a bit of bad news from MagCloud. The date on the cover of the magazine wasn't printing correctly. It had a yellowish glow that was slightly offset from the text. (You can see it in the image below.) 

We're working on getting it fixed and expect to have that done by today or tomorrow, but in the meantime we've stopped production. It means that your shipment is going to be delayed by a few days, and we're sorry about that!

Longshot is an inherently flawed product. You don't make a magazine in 48 hours without making a few mistakes. Having said that, we want it to be the best that it can, and we hope you'll bear with us while we get this straightened out. I'll post another update when the magazines begin shipping.

After two sleepless nights, several galloons of coffee, hundreds of lines of code, and about a bazillion printouts, we made a magazine. We're proud to announce issue two, the debt issue. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.

If you are in the United States and backed Longshot at the $25 level or above, you should have a magazine by the end of next week, if not sooner. International shipments will take a bit longer. (In some cases up to three to four weeks.)

We've gotten a lot of questions about how to get involved with Longshot. The answer is that it's really easy! 

On July 29, at noon Pacific time, we'll announce a theme and publish a link where you can go to send submissions. We'll do this via email, Twitter and on our blog. To get on the mailing list, go to http://longshotmag.com/signup. To follow us on Twitter, go to http://twitter.com/longshotmag. 

After we announce our theme, for the next 24 hours we'll take submissions based on that theme. Once the submission period ends, we take the next 24 hours to edit, design, fact check, copy edit and produce the magazine. At the end of that 48 hour period, we'll publish a list of all the contributors who were accepted. We're also encouraging people to set up what we call satellite offices—places where you can come together and work with others on your submissions. 

We view Longshot as being an exercise in creativity that's defined by two constraints: the limited time period, and the theme. For that reason, we don't take pitches in advance.
