After several unplanned delays I have a terrific soprano stepping in at short notice to record a vocal track with the music. The music is the other half of this crazy concept, and it has been in development for some time so I can't wait to hear a "more finished" version.
Expect to hear it here by 3/27 or 3/28!

To clarify: This voting opportunity is just like a reward (and one you get to enjoy right away) and so it's a privilege, not a right.
Backers are free to donate any amount to any project; that's the beauty of this system. And as such the perks are consistent with their level of investment in those projects. I'd say having the chance to choose who illustrates my book is a pretty AMAZING perk...for just $25!

Sorry to see you go, moonlight69 but after seeing vote-buying going on I had to do something about it without canceling the whole thing.
$1 still supports the project, it just doesn't entitle you to vote on how the book looks. For that creative input, the backer should be invested enough to at least buy one book! Fair, no?
Every dollar really DOES help--but when it becomes ABOUT the voting and not the project itself, there's only one way to weed out voter drones... Some may not agree with this strategy, but I'm no longer giving out this kind of creative control so cheap. The sacrifice should be respected and I leave it to backers to make that determination for themselves.
Thanks.
Emlyn

If you're going to disparage people for not donating "enough" money by your standards, I no longer have any desire to support your project. Maybe having 100 backers pledge $1 each doesn't move your pledged amount along as fast as you'd like, but it gets you $100 closer than you would be otherwise. Good luck reaching your goal with your added stipulations, I'm withdrawing my pledge and will not be recommending your project to any of my friends.

Hi, I pledged but can't figure out what "code" i need to enter in order to vote for an illustrator. Help? Thanks and good luck with the project!

You're a riot!
As it turns out, one of the "tag lines" I'd started using here is "A gnoo kind of story book for a gnoo kind of story time".
Yuk yuk.

When I first heard about this, I thought it was an auto-boggy-graphy! (Shows how much I gnoo...)
