My sweet friends and supporters,

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I recorded Paper Heart! I'm still so blown away that you all continue to show up to see me play, that you buy my album, and that so many of you take time to intentionally encourage me and offer your help. You're the best!

So, to catch ya'll up...

I spent spring semester playing local shows and working to promote Paper Heart. I was so touched by the love and support I received at the CD release parties in Athens and in Griffin. Then this summer I took a break from pursuing my own music to work with a youth ministry in St. Simons Island called the Gathering Place. I was blessed with the opportunity to lead worship on a weekly basis, and with the joy of mentoring the high school worship band!

At the end of the summer (after a 3 month hiatus from writing) I took 2 weeks to pour myself into new verses and melodies. I was really surprised to see how my writing style has grown and changed since I first went into the studio in December 2009. It's been so fun!

This semester a couple of really fun opportunities have come up. Creative Forge Productions in Charleston approached me with a music video outline for "Rooftop". I'll be filming that in November, and I'm bringing my friends that inspired the song! Also, I just signed a licensing deal with All Media Music Group in California. They'll be pitching my music to film and television, which will be an awesome way to get exposure. I'm trying to record my newest stuff before the end of the year to give them some more material to work with.

This is where you come in:

I'm trying to raise $15,000 by November 20, 2010 so I can record a full length album.

Ok, I know this sounds like an enormous amount of money. But believe it or not, making music is extremely expensive. Why $15,000? I will be paying for time in the studio, mixing, mastering, and the cost to print the first 1,000 copies. Each of these aspects costs a certain amount per song, and since I am recording a full length album (10-12 songs), this gets really pricey...

Kickstarter works like this: I set a goal ($15,000). Then you can pledge any amount you'd like! In return for your contribution, you'll get fantastic stuff like exclusive tracks, nifty merchandise, a copy of the CD before it comes out, a personal concert, or your name in the liner notes of my CD--all depending on how much you give. (the rewards are listed to your right)

BUT here's the catch: Kickstarter is an all or nothing project. So UNLESS I RAISE AT LEAST $15,000 by the deadline none of you will be charged. This means that if by November 20, 2010 I haven't raised the total amount, then the project won't happen!

That being said, I can't thank you enough for listening to my music and for supporting me. I want to keep sharing it with you!
