Hello you Kickass Kickstarter peeps,

Crazy exciting news - we are doing our first show this weekend!!  SPIN LDN "The World's First Urban-Focussed Cycling Show" here in London...  3 days of all things bike, plus DJs, food, talks and lots more...

We were setting up there today and it looks awesome!  Will has done an unbelievable job with out stand and we're so excited to be a part of the weekend.  

So if you happen to be in London this bank holiday weekend and looking for something to do, come say hi!!  We will be sharing photos with you after, but be great to see you there!  Just wanted to let you know.

People will be getting sneaky previews of what you, our phenomenal backers will be the very first to get their hands on at the end of the Summer....  Eeeek.. So exciting.

Happy Friday our wonderful BLAZE Components supporters and backers!

We have a big favour to ask of you!  London Cycling Campaign have launched their annual search for the best of cycling in the capital.

We've been told we should apply, and a win or nomination really would be great for BLAZE Components and show support for our innovative product!  So we've decided to go for it and are calling on all of you, our amazing supporters to help make this happen.

First up we need to get BLAZE nominated for an award, we are aiming for the “Best Product” category, but feel free to nominate us for any additional category you fancy.

Wow! 

Matt and I have just got back from an amazing trip East: Taiwan, Hong Kong and China all in rapid succession.  I've been out to Taiwan before (this time last year for the International Bike Show) but it was my first time to China or Hong Kong.  Incredible!  Matt's been out many, many times so awesome to have him show me the ropes.  

We were in Taiwan first with Wang and an optical design team at the University in Taipei.  Wang is amazing.  He's like Yoda of the optical engineering world!  He sorted us out with some extremely exciting sourcing meetings (many of the best optical components come from that part of the world)...  Waiting to sign things off, but we should have some pretty unbelievable news for you on this fairly soon, fingers crossed.  

In other news - we were in an Earthquake!  All AOK but fairly hairy 18 floors up - my hotel room suddenly started swaying and it felt like struggling to keep your balance on the tube.  The thought I wasn't ready to die, too much left I wanted to do and people I wanted to tell I loved suddenly flashed in my mind! ...It was apparently 6.1 on the Richter Scale, so I don't feel too bad at being momentarily terrified.  Life affirming stuff.

But besides that, it was a fantastic trip.  Matt and I basically giggled our way round Asia.  The meetings with suppliers, manufacturers and factories could't have gone much better, luck and I want to say fine planning, but more like lots of energy, was on our side.  Though it did all highlight quite how much we have to do before we have stock of BLAZE Bike Lights here..  And quite how long everything takes; lead time on ordering components, things being held by authorities, the time for actual fabrication, shipping...  We have a VERY busy few months!!  But bring it on.

Oh. My. Goodness.

So, when I turned to you guys 5 days ago, spelled out the situation and asked which way you'd prefer us to go forward with your BLAZE rewards, honestly, I was hoping the majority of you might support us to deliver you the best light we possibly can...  But I was in no way expecting the unbelievable response we've had!

Firstly, THANK YOU to so many of you who jumped on our survey straight away (hundreds within the first hour!) and I can now, only 5 days in, reveal the results...

Astonishingly, the vast majority have already responded and currently with 471 votes cast, a truly amazing 465 of you have voted for Option 2!  I can't believe it.  Check it out below!  A little overwhelmed, so glad I asked you all and decision made, BOOM!

Just to clarify for those who asked, no we are not wanting any further funds from you and we will be delivering you a vastly improved BLAZE Bike Light later in the summer (and of course update you on milestones along the way).  

A final thank you for taking the time to vote and for your incredible messages of support.  LOVE OUR BACKERS.  Seriously, you're awesome.
