Thank you so much for reading. I'm Elyse from Elyse and the Aftermath and I started this band two years ago with one dream in mind; to record the demos I had spent the past year making in my apartment. What I found... musicians who constantly challenge me and have in turn made this album what she sounds like today.
In late 2007, I met Greg Pajer (guitar), Andrew James (bass) and Blake Paulson (drums). Within weeks, the foursome were rehearsing and recording demos for Elyse’s debut album. After meeting with a few other notables, Elyse turned to her trusted friend and producer, Brett Chassen, and his business partner, Bob Kulick.
"Shut Up and Listen!", was released digitally in August 2008, and the morning the album hit iTunes, I was in a meeting with Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaak, Green Day) to remix the album which would become our self-titled release, The Aftermath.
In November, 2008, we had the amazing pleasure of opening for Berlin and we are opening for them again this New Year's Eve. That night I met the man who would complete the musical puzzle. Dave Schulz (Goo Goo Dolls, Berlin) came aboard adding piano, synths, strings, among other sounds to the album.
We've toured to Texas and back, playing at this year's acclaimed SxSw Music Festival and now we're back with Mark Needham, remixing the ten song self-titled album.
Dave's friend Paul Grundman, whose father, Bernie Grundman, mastered Thriller and Fleetwood Mac, to name just a few, is giving us an amazing deal on mastering.
While it's amazingly hard to get industry attention as an independent artist, I've been extremely fortunate to have some amazing industry veterans guide me through this process. Want to see that our album gets the promotion its needs and be able on tour so we can play for all of you. With your help we can make this a reality.
Pledge as little as $10 and receive an exclusive early download of the record as soon as it's done (2 months before it's out on CDs, iTunes, etc.) or pledge $100 and spend New Year's Eve with Elyse and the band as they once again share the stage opening for Berlin in Orange County, CA. Even pledge $1000 and if you can get yourself to LA with a friend, you can join Elyse for a personal day out at the Disneyland.
In the spirit of helping others, we will donating a portion of the album sales from 2010 to a variety of very cool charities.
