About this project

Can we hit $5000?  We need to pay for servers, hard drives, legal fees, set-up fees, transportation, and shipping - we need a minimum of $5000 by Nov 1.

This is the film that documents the movement.  The end product will be a  compelling, cinematic, resonant, and honest portrait of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Please donate as much as you can, and please send this link to your friends: http://kck.st/q8nzS9.  Every bit of support is vital and sustaining. Whether you are the 99% - whether you even agree with the term - or if you just want to see a film about it - this is it.

99% - The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film is a documentary film spearheaded by over 60 award-winning independent filmmakers, photographers, and videographers across the country.  We have come together and pledged our time, skills and gear to cover the events taking place in NYC and around the country.  The goals of this project are to:

1. Move quickly

2. Include as many filmmakers as want to be involved - but also include anyone with a videocamera who wants to be a part of this project.

3. Quickly record, collect and edit footage so we can broadcast the moment AS IT IS HAPPENING

4. Craft a feature length documentary film and release it as a collaborative feature film in theaters, on DVD, TV, and of course online.

We have award winning producers, directors, editors, cinematographers as well as PR people and distributors, but also encourage anyone with footage, a camera, or just a desire to participate. Simply put - we want everyone who wants to be involved to get involved!

Here's what we need right now:

Cinematographers - Editors - Researchers - Illustrators - Social Media managers - ***New - We are also looking for people who want to be featured in the film. Want to tell your story?  Writes us!

There is a youtube channel so you can keep up with the project as it goes along.  Please use these Facebook and Twitter pages to spread the word.

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/99percentfilm
Community Youtube Page: http://www.youtube.com/99filmchannel

Website: http://www.99percentfilm.com

Here's what we need YOU to do: Contribute whatever you can!  All rewards are the same as we want to reward everyone for giving, and not the ability to give more.  If you can give more, please do!  Please also share this page online. Email it to people. Tweet about it.

Our goal is NOT $1000!  Our goal for this page is 5K.

Help us record this moment in time.  This may well be a historical moment of change; a shift.  Help us document the people and events who are part of this movement and make this information available DESPITE the mainstream media's failure to honestly capture this.

As a speaker we filmed yesterday (a former stockbroker) said at Zuccotti Park in NYC: "What matters is whether you will commit your resources, not how many resources you have to commit."

Please commit, contribute and help us spread the word!  Press requests, prospective collaborators and naysayers can write to:

99percentfilm@gmail.com.

From all of us: Thank you!

  • Anyone whose footage is used in the feature film will be paid a fee per amount used.  There will be equipment expenses. Editing expenses.  Website expenses.  Post production, color correction, sound mixing, music licensing, legal fees, and then distribution - advertising expenses, materials, prints (even if digital - there are many theater-specific encoding fees) - in short: making films is expensive and there is no end to what your contribution can help us accomplish.
