You founded Eerie Canal. We will perform a founding re-creation, but this time you will be there too. Mr. Bennett and Mr. Kimura met one boozy night at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA, and decided to start a game company. Come join us, pretend to be down from day one, and we will post a story about it on our blog. Mr. Kimura will draw your portrait on the spot, and we'll put it in the credits in the ultra-exclusive Pretend Founders section. This also incudes the T Shirt, Box Set, Tote, and other cool junk. Travel to Cambridge, MA required. 21+ only!

Drawing, shirt, game, signed junk, credits, in-game models... piles of Dreadline junk and/or memories to tuck away in your Hope Chest!

This could be a serious calamity. Come to a team meeting, and tell us your amazing idea for a level of the game. It had better be amazing, because we intend on doing everything within reason to take your idea and make it work. Do you have an undeniably killer monster idea? Come convince us. In addition, you get all the previous awards. In extra-addition, you and a guest are invited to the Dreadline launch party. You basically worked for the company at that point anyway, so really how could we say no. You're responsible for travel to Cambridge, MA or Providence RI. We could settle for a video chat if you're unable to travel. Regardless, we will be handing over, or mailing you a ton of Dreadline/Eerie Canal junk including the T Shirt, Box Set, Stickers, Drawings, and whatever other detritus we can sweep off the factory floor.

Hey guys, any plans of relaunching this? Cheers

Hey all, sorry your funding didn't come through. I know (first hand!) how super talented you all are, so I can't wait to see where this project goes.
Stay weird!
P.S. Next time, you should offer as a reward a ride in that sweet, sweet car that's in your group picture.
Creator Kris Aubuchon on February 1
Hopefully this project will see the light of day one way or another - looks great.
Creator James Campbell on February 1
I hope you all are able to give this concept another go. I really liked the concept and wanted to show my support for indie creativity. Don't give up!
Creator Simon Kranz on January 31
I'm very glad you keep being positive about the project, even though it didn't have a huge impact on kickstarter. I'm really fascinated by the setting and I'm looking forward to see "Dreadline" become a reality.
Hoping to hear from you guys soon about future plans!!
Creator Lost-brain -Obsidian Order Dark Goddess on January 30
Too bad... This project seems to not be found in time... Anyway, I hope you won't give up, I truly think this game has a great potential.
Creator Jim Otermat on January 30
I really hope you guys relaunch. I want to play this. Desura and GamersGate have been good outlets for us.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 29
Thanks jorlinn. GOG has already contacted us, and although we are not going to reach our goal, we have definitely learned quite a bit from this attempt.
Creator jorlinn on Linux on January 29
I Love the idea of this game, but with only 65 hours to go, raising more than $100,000 seems unrealistic.
I do agree with Cornelius though, your experience is nothing to scoff at, quite the contrary.
I hope this poject will get restarted. I'd contact the more cynic sites to raise attention for this project, such as FullyRamblomatic by Yathzee and possibly The Register. Those would be excellent channels to promote your endeavour, I'm sure. As distribution channel, I'd choose GOG (Just look at he 34,000+ votes to bring System Shock II to that channel) and Desura. Desura is known for their more gritty type of games, which would be an excellent match for your Art Style.
Creator Cornelius- Kidney of the Obsidian Order on January 27
"Freedom Force, Bioshock, Titan Quest, Rock Band," these need to be in bigger, bolder font. Really push the teams achievements!!!!
Creator Cornelius- Kidney of the Obsidian Order on January 27
The team behind this game come from very mainstream and triple A games. Teams without a single accomplished developer get kickstarted for even larger amounts. Something is very wrong! You guys need to really push the pedigree of the team. This is one that set a very realistic goal, and has more than enough experience to follow through. I can only surmise that it hasn't had enough attention from major news sites. I could see it far outstripping the current goal and hitting some stretch goals with enough marketing.
Creator ThomasN on January 27
I hope this wasn't too revolutionary for KS, and the majority of people just did just not follow the gameplay idea...
If you do another KS, maybe do some gameplay and try to immediately start showing it, narrating.
Creator Lewis on January 27
Is 95% of the Kickstarter community on vacation or something?
Creator Cornelius- Kidney of the Obsidian Order on January 26
I love this idea. I pray to all the gods I know and have invented for this to succeed!
Creator Daniel Gray on January 26
This looks really cool, also love the idea of killing people before natural disasters.
Creator Wolfgang Lange on January 25
Please try again - its a unique idea which will surely work the next time!
Creator Eerie Canal on January 24
Thanks Dragoon! We have been lucky enough to make some good contacts throughout this as well as learn where we stand and where we have to get to. We appreciate your support.
Creator Dragoon - Weresheep of Original Sin on January 23
If do not go for relaunch you can always use the slower but equally advantageous method of donation sites some other indie type developers use. Will take longer but should still get there in the end. I think would be nice to see this title on Steam or on shelves etc to buy. It is something different to most games so would be interesting to buy & play.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 23
Alex - thanks for the support! We've learned a lot through this process, and have made some good contacts. If we decide to try again, I think we'll be in much better shape!
Creator Eerie Canal on January 23
Timothy - You're totally right. It's something we hoped that we could do without since a lot of other campaigns did. But, a lot of other people at least had video showing out what the game would look like, and we didn't have very much of that footage. We will definitely fix that if we relaunch.
Creator Alex Dickie on January 23
Are you going to restart the campaign? The game looks fantastic, for whatever reason it just wasn't on people's radar. I'm sure it'll catch on if you try again.
Creator Timothy Lose on January 21
You guys have a fantastic concept. I know you have heard this a million times but please consider uploading some prototype gameplay footage. The art style and concept are great, but how can we pledge with confidence with no idea how the game will play? With a littlw gameplay footage hopefully gameinformer or ign will pick up the story and give you that end of campaign rush you need.
Creator Ian Perley on January 20
Just read about Dreadline on Rock Paper Shotgun and knew I had to pledge. Awesome game premise, loved the intro video. Keep up the great work! :)
Creator Wexmajor on January 16
Spooky Freedom Force? Yes please.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 14
Hey Sterling - we are currently working on some more gameplay videos. We hope to post them very soon. - Bryn
Creator Sterling Reames on January 14
For the team size you guys have really accomplished a lot in a year. I just pledged $45 because I know from experience as a 3D artist how hard it is to stay in the Boston area and develop games.
I really wish I could see exactly how a session of the game plays. I'm probably wrong, but it doesn't seem like there's much in terms of interesting decisions to make based on what I've seen so far. With the current design will you guys be able to pull off something with as much tension and strategy as say, XCOM:Enemy Unkown? Or will you be able to satisfy RPG players as well as Torchlight II does?
This is a great looking project and I do have high hopes for it. Looking forward to seeing more gameplay!
Creator Dragoon - Weresheep of Original Sin on January 13
Really hope this gets more backers and makes it's goal. It's something different for a change and variety is the spice of life as they say.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 11
Hey Bryce. It's true, we are in a bit of trouble right now! And thanks for your input. We did contact a lot of people about our kickstarter campaign. We did get some good coverage (kotaku, rock paper shotgun, etc!), but maybe it wasn't enough. I think the media gets blitzed with kickstarter campaigns, so it's tough for them to keep up. I also think it's a bit of our own fault. We've been working on this game for a while, and haven't talked enough about the actual gameplay. We plan on rectifying that over the next few days. We'll see what happens!
- Bryn
Creator Bryce on January 11
Unfortunately it looks like funding may not come this time around, but there is still 20 days! I saw the news articles pop up on the sites I mentioned before (there may have been some but I didn't see them), but the reporting seemed a bit unenthusiastic compared to the buzz of the initial announcement (disclaimer: not meant to be a negative criticism of those sites). Also I didn't see any articles about this KS project until a few days after it was launched. I'm not sure what the trend for successful KS projects is, but I suspect that the first couple of days of funding largely impact the likelihood of success. The graphs I've seen certainly suggest that most of the funding happens in the first and last couple of days. I as a backer have been turned away from projects because I don't see momentum in the first couple of days (not necessarily fair, but thinking this way may be very human), and typically I'm made aware of a project because of pre-KS launch interviews and announcements made on the day of the launch by the gaming news sites I visit. I think this project is interesting and worthy of being funded, and part of me is surprised it hasn't accumulated the funding for success already. Maybe I'm in the minority who want to see it get funded, but at the same time I feel like there may have been some key steps overlooked in generating a buzz for this project before the KS launch (maybe it happened on sites I'm not aware of). At the same time, maybe the gaming media and KS community are burned out by kickstarter games and this just wasn't the right time to announce it anyway. Maybe you tried to do all of those things and coverage wasn't offered. Anyway that's my 2 cents, and I wish you guys the best in getting it funded. If you end up cancelling the KS drive and devising a new strategy I'll be there to support you again.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 10
Hey Luke- I think we underestimated the demand for a mid-price, physical DVD. We're working up a design, and will be adding that as a reward. You're definitely not the only one who wants one!

Creator ThomasN on January 9
Hmmm.. please inform everybody on this list: http://www.pixelprospector.com/the-big-list-of-video-game-sites/ , maybe they don't know this exists, yet...
Creator Luke Keppler on January 8
I've been excited about this project the teaser video last year. Eagerly backed, but I wish a physical boxed copy didn't start at $250. $60-80 for a DVD in a case would be perfect.
Creator Martin Linde on January 8
The game looks good. The previous games you guys worked on are some of the favorite games, namely FF and SWAT 4 (never laughed to much playing co-op with my friend). Keep up the good work.
Creator Ross Tunney on January 7
Happy to lend my support to a fellow developer! An interesting-looking game indeed!
Creator Eerie Canal on January 5
Thanks ThomasN, we promise not to let your wrench break too often.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 5
Good call ThomasN. I'll do that now.
Creator ThomasN on January 5
Eerie Canal: Thanks for clarification. I'd write "DRM free" somewhere on the main page if I were you, I nearly missed this KS, because I filter out KS projects without the word drm in my "kickstarter collecting shell script".
Now with that out of the way, I just wanted to say I am honored to be able to fuel the creative powers of the creators of one of the greatest games ever made (of course, SS2).
Creator Fernando Fernandes on January 5
Amazing video and great idea. I wish this project the best of luck. And please... Mac port. Now.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 5
Wolfgang - There's a pretty good chance. :)
Creator Eerie Canal on January 5
ThomasN - No, you won't need 3rd party software. The game will run fine without an internet connection, although the leaderboards and stat competition will not work, obviously.
Creator Iain Smith on January 5
Watched the video and thought "that reminds me of Freedom Force", one of my favourite games. Here's hoping the funding drive is successful, also hope it's less nail-biting than Elite has been for the past two months.
Creator Wolfgang Lange on January 5
Wow - im so glad to have discovered your game. Great Idea. How good is the chance that the red bagpack is included in the 250$ Option? ;-)
Creator Nicholas Mistry on January 4
+1 for MAC
Creator ThomasN on January 4
Do I have to run any kind of 3rd-party shop software with DRM (Steam/Origin/..) while or before playing? Does this work without any internet on a LAN (if you do the MP part)?
Creator Eerie Canal on January 4
Bryce - we already contacted them! Hopefully they will be cool enough to write about us again.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 4
Kevin - Yeah, we've been looking into Greenlight. We plan on doing that soon.
Creator Eerie Canal on January 4
We'd love to be able to do the Mac port. I had to buy my first PC to build this game!

Creator Izzy Maxwell on January 4
MAC PORT!
Creator Kevin Lavoie on January 4
Having just discovered the project, I fell in love with your concept and creative direction so shut up and take all my money! Looking forward to witnessing you building this up, good luck :)
P.S. If willing, could you bring up your project to Steam by its Greenlight community system? You already have my vote and I shall spread the propaganda.
