Well hello!
We are Eastern Block, Nashville based band born in the winter of 2007, and we desperately need your help! We live and breathe what we do, love every minute of all the incredibly hard work and want to spend a lifetime doing so. This album is the beginning of that.
The Band...
Born in Germany, Oklahoma and Floriday, we were all raised most of our lives in Tennessee. We all grew up around the same groups of people, but, oddly enough, never met until Jon and Aaron became friends around high school. Sean and Jon had so many mutual friends, it was amazing that they didn't meet until 2007. Sean and Jonathan met while working at a coffee shop in 2006, and Jonathan and Aaron's dads actually played the same instruments in the same bands together back in their high school days in Amarillo, Texas. We have self released and produced two EPs and one full length album, which you can find on iTunes and Spotify. And now we're finally at it again!
The Project...
It has been a while since our last release so we want to give you as much music and EB gear as possible. This album we're working on will be in VINYL format with a digital release to go with it. As you can see from some of the different tiers we have set up, we also want you have some awesome new merchandise, special artwork, exclusive documentation of the recording of this album, and many other unique EB accoutrements. We are so incredibly fortunate to have such amazing and supportive fans and wish we could make some amazing art and just give it to you, but alas, these things cost money :). Also, just so you know exactly what you are supporting, we are a completely INDEPENDENT band without any financial backing, we started recording on September 1st, but nothing is paid for yet, so none of this happens without YOUR help!
The Plan...
We hope to have this album officially released and prizes delivered by April of 2013. We have some amazing people behind us so the plan is for this album to be a major catalyst in the start of our career as a band creating and playing music together, which, you guessed it, includes extensive touring to the places you beautiful people call home. Bottom line, we want you to share in our success, and be a part of what we do, because even with all of the long hours of hard work we put into this, we know that none of this, no amount of success we may achieve would even be remotely possible without YOU.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
There are no risks involved in this project, but there will be challenges. We do realize the amount of planning that is going to go into all of this, and we don't have a big label machine to help us implement everything. We are tackling every single bit of this process by ourselves. That includes coming up with production ideas for the album, art work for all the merch, the recording of the audio commentary, organizing and acquiring footage for the mini documentary, as well as the organization and booking of flights for the $5,000 tier...and those are just a few examples!
That is why we are giving ourselves plenty of time to fulfill everything. We just want to make sure they are done right, and in a way that stays true to our artistic vision, and not just be another "product".
All four of us eat, sleep and breathe this band. There are challenges every day but love every minute of it and wouldn't have it any other way, and THAT is how we'll make all of this happen.
