Kamakura is a game of feudal Japanese warfare in which you attempt to defeat an opponent by taking their territories before they take yours; this is done by carefully choosing combinations of weapons, soldiers, and arrow barrages to attack with, while defending your own territories with a myriad of defensive techniques. Strategy, deception, and bravery will be your most valuable assets in the complex and varied game of Kamakura.

Kamakura was conceived from a long card ride, some spare decks, and a want to create a competitive but fun card game that could be played relatively fast. After the initial development, it was shelved for a few months until it was shown to Orie's roommates, who displayed immediate interest. After some further honing, Kamakura began to take a much more realistic shape, and they began to start the production process.

We decided to create a Kickstarter, 1. to cover the printing costs, and 2. as a pre-order device so we can get an accurate measurement of how many decks to print. Funding will go to printing off the various assets that we'll be giving as donation bonuses such as card decks, prints etc.

The cards themselves will be printed 4 color process on 310 gsm special grade playing card board and will have a special casino quality aqueous coating. Each deck will come in a full color tuck box with instructions.If we meet our donation goal, production time of the decks will be three to four weeks until delivery to us, where we will personally ship them out to you.
