The Making of "Dust & Gold"

Hello music lovers!!! 

For many years now I've been dreaming about making a mellow, beautiful record that showcases the softer side of my music…with some of the songs that have lingered like the old friends they are…or perhaps like spirits that have yet to come into earthly form. :)

My longtime friend and collaborator Jonathan Plum (London Bridge Studio) and I have been talking about this same vision together since our days together in Drive by Star.

It was while I was traveling abroad last winter that Jonathan was listening to my old home demos and got inspired to add some of his own creativity to them.  He laid down some guitars, bass and drums to those original tracks and sent them to me via email.  I discovered those mixes in a cyber cafe in Rishikesh, India and was truly inspired to come back to Seattle and work on manifesting that musical collaboration.  

So here we are!  

Jonathan and I have started the record, (and it is sounding beautiful), tentatively entitled "Dust & Gold".  We are now at a place where to continue and finish it we are in need of raising funds.  It takes real cash to make a real record! :)  We have studio time to book, musicians to hire, artists to hire for artwork, design and website development, mixing and mastering, pressing and printing…etc etc.  It's quite an endeavor, but one we've done before and one we know we can successfully complete, especially with your support!  

Kickstarter is this great new way to get fans and friends involved in the creation of new art.  You're not just donating money, but actually receiving unique rewards/gifts in return.  It's a beautiful and tangible exchange.  For the love of music, creating beauty and in the spirit of community.

Remember, we are setting a financial goal we believe we can reach together, as we only get the money if we reach the full goal!  If we don't make our mark, we don't get a penny! We are happy to raise more funds beyond the $5000 mark we've set.  We know we've set a moderate amount for what we're undertaking….so let the coffers fill!!!….and know that we will produce. :)

It's really exciting to try this new form of manifestation and I hope you are inspired to get involved and share with as many people as you can!!!
