Good News! Our French Genealogist has completed the lineage investigation going back as far as 1688!!
So far, the oldest document to be found is the birth certificate of Henry Dubus born in Sept 14, 1688 in Villers Saint Barthelemy (Oise). For this town the records go back to 1615 but they are in pretty bad shape and it is taking some time to analyze/translate some of these documents. With these documents in tow, our French Genealogist will start down the path of determining the true directions of our family legends...Keep your fingers crossed!
WHOOP!! WHOOP!!! We did it! And it would not have been accomplished with each and everyone of you!
Thank you for your financial backing, motive encouragement, and spiritual support!!!!
So0o0...what next? Well, in response to the generous donations of $100 or more, there is a new reward level!!
Each contributor of $100 or more will receive the $50 reward PLUS a personal family tree from my files and with images and information supplied by the contributor! If you've already contributed a lesser amount, you may contribute again and I will reward you for the total if it's over $100.
We have 10 more days before our porject is "officially" closed. And any funds raised above the initial funding request will continue to support the necessary costs of obtaining all this information.
In all things Dubus!
WOW!!! We are making it!!!! 30 days left to go and we are at 85% funded!!! So, with the 4th of July approaching, just a quick note thanking our Founding Fathers for establishing the greatest country on earth that gave our ancestors a place of refuge during their country's time of turnmoil! And soon, we will KNOW what our ancestors participation in that history will be about!
We have 15% more to raise - and we can start tearing down walls!!! Keep the faith and Happy 4th!
Even though we are working diligently to raise funds going backwards in time to find the true historical evidence of the Dubus lineage, research continues on moving forwards in time to connect the migration patterns of the Dubus family - which will lead to more information and connections to and with this fascinating family. For example:
I FINALLY found the resting place of the last remaining youngest member of the 1st generation Dubus - and that is Gustave and Esther Dubus....whew~~~ found everyone else (A total of 19 individuals and their spouses, not counting children), but these two took a minute....let me tell you. They are buried at the Spruell Cemetery in Cantonement, Escambia Co., FL. I now have a complete working database of birth/marriage/death/burial of every 1st generation child born in the United States to Louis Jules. And I have the same for Stanislaus Ambroise (1st generation and 1/2 brother to Louis Jules) and his children (who are 2nd generation French on American soil - except Rosa).
With this information, we can track where they lived, what jobs they held, what social efforts they were a part of. and how these individuals shaped communities and/or individuals!
So, thanks for the support! More to come!
