About this project
Hello! My name is Drew and I want to conceive and create a quilt every month for the entirety for 2012 and display them at the beginning of 2013 in a gallery show. I also want to make a series of silk screened prints based on each quilt.
With this project I want to explore the relationship between the usability and aesthetic nature of quilts. I want to create quilt patterns that are as far removed from traditonal patterns as possible while still maintaing the basic form and idea of a quilt. Each quilt will be the same size, 66" x 86", or the size of a twin bed. The silk screened prints will be done in a limited run (one for each day of the corresponding month) and will be the quilt's design translated to ink on paper.
The reason for doing this project are numerous but mainly revolve around my desire to use the medium of quilting as a means to expand my creative abilities.

Hello! My name is Drew Stefani. I'm a student, maker of things, and Nov. 2011 employee of the month at the Crafty Wonderland Shop in Portland Oregon. Over the last year or so I've started quilting and absolutely love it.
