About this project

As you may or may not know, the DFM boys are working on their 5th and final video for their pilot. The final film is the conclusion to their cheap car challenge -- 2012 post-apocalyptic cars. They have a big plan for the ending and they need funding to complete it.

The plan: After Nick and Matt run their cars through the gammott of challenges, including, speed, agility, hauling capabilities and fuel economy, one final durability challenge remains.

The big finale? The boys plan to drop a 1986 VW Golf onto Nick's Subaru from a crane.

What's needed you ask?
-10-ton crane and operator for 4 hours @ $185/hour = $740
-Sweeney XL Quick Release rigging = $595 (not including shipping)
-Sweeny Air actuator, 24VDC, Extra Large Quick Release = $396.04 (not including shipping)

The crane is self-explanatory but the quick release is a special item that allows your release the car. Only one guy makes these! And the air actuator is so that we can set off the quick release w/o using pyrotechnics.

Total = $1731.04
