Update #4: Thank you all!!
Update #2: What "Genesis" is REALLY About...
Thank you all for supporting my efforts to make "Genesis". As you can tell, I've got a LONG way to go before I reach my goal. I'm doing something a little differently. I've decided to just talk. It's 4:15am and I'm awake...as I always am it seems. I needed to just talk...from my heart...about "Genesis".
I have one request: Turn on your webcam for :30 and say why you would support "Genesis". My hope is this will build momentum...get people talking about this project...not because I'm talking about it. Because you are.
Please Watch. Please Join Me.

One of the most important reasons I'm supporting Genesis is for my 9-year-old. He has also been developing a team of superheroes since he was about 5 years old. He's written stories about them and constantly thinks of new developments for the characters. One day when we were talking about his team of superheroes, he revealed that they didn't look like him. They looked like some of his friends from school. When I asked why they didn't look like him he said because there never were any superheroes that looked like him. He broke my heart. In his young mind, he couldn't even conceive of his own superheroes looking like himself. Genesis needs to be made so that all the little black boys and little black girls can envision themselves as superheroes, heads of state, or whatever other roles they can imagine.

Update #1: Preparing for the April 8th, "Genesis Franchise Bash"!!
Thank you all for backing and supporting "Genesis"!!
In addition to our page here on Kickstarter, I am planning a fundraising event to launch "Genesis" as a film and a fully realized franchise. My goal is to cultivate relationships for a graphic novel series, a video game and additional merchandise. Here's a clip of a walk thru of my favorite choice of venues, Rise at The Highlands, located in the Hollywood and Higlands complex in Hollywood. Keep support this project! Share this with ALL of your friends and contacts!! Look for YOUR invitation to the party in early March!
