About this project

Ever wonder about those old boarded up theatres you see in your travels? What were they? Who performed there? Curtain Call will take you inside some of New Jersey's old theatres of a bygone era.

Explore with us the Architecture of these majestic edifices. Learn about who performed at these wonderful venues. We'll find out interesting stories from some of the people who worked in these theatres or from their relatives. See the back story of us putting this documentary together.

We will accomplish all this by researching the theatres of New Jersey. We will try to concentrate on the theatres that we will be able to get into and document the state that they are in at the present time. Then we'll compare how they look now to what they looked when they were fully operationally. This will be done through photographs and news reels. Our hope is to interview people who have worked and performed in these theatres. If the people are not alive then we will look for relatives and talk with them. By documenting New Jersey's theatre's we hope to also explore the history of the Vaudeville/Burlesque circuit in the state. Additionally we will show you the back story of us preparing the documentary.

The money that is raised will be used to finance the production of this documentary. We also plan on having a premiere, hopefully in one of the theatres that we highlight. The documentary will also be taken around to various Festivals.
