About this project

The Dill Pickle Club (http://dillpickleclub.com/), a creative cultural center dedicated to providing an experimental forum for critiquing contemporary culture, needs two tables for display in their new storefront in the Everett Station Lofts. Vontundra (http://www.vontundra.com), a Portland-based design house specializing in the creation of contemporary furniture, is donating labor and some supplies.

Money raised for the project will go towards purchasing material expenses, including two sheets of 3/4" plywood, hardware, and laminate. The purchased plywood is F.S.C. (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. The hardware is necessary for structural integrity and as a means to enable the tables to break down and move easily for storage and continuous use in a fluctuating space. The laminate is primarily of aesthetic importance, adding some contemporary flavor to a simply functional form, but it is a reclaimed material purchased from a local salvage yard.

With the intentions of being resourceful both economically and environmentally, the remaining materials needed for the tables are salvaged from the remnants of previous Vontundra projects and supplied as donation. With your help, the resulting product is two locally designed and hand crafted display tables that can look forward to a long and rich life with the Dill Pickle Club.

Tables will be used to display publications and gift items related to Portland history and independent culture. Featuring vendors as wide-ranging as Oregon State University Press, Lone Fir Cemetery, PDX Pop Now!, Courier Coffee, Unbound Pickles and The Sprokettes, the shop will offer a hand-picked selection of regionally-specific goods.

The shop is open during WORK | PROGRESS: A Benefit for the Dill Pickle Club (Dec 3 - Jan 3) Wednesday - Sunday 12PM - 6PM. For more info, visit: http://dillpickleclub.com.
