About this project
From a young child my imagination always bubbled over through a pencil and paper. Over the years, my interests have broadened and the creation of DILAN was the outcome of the marriage of those interests. The pieces break the expectations of jewelry and blur the line between art and fashion. My first collection was recognized by many magazines [ELLE, Bullett, WAD, STATUS, TimeOut, etc], designers, and my peers.
I am now trying to create a second collection inspired by my Sri Lankan heritage and my background in architecture put into a contemporary context.
This Kickstarter project will help me from initial designing to a final presentation of the collection. The goal of $3,000 is the minimum I need for this dream to be realized.
With the support of backers DILAN will accomplish:
Design - deriving pieces from the initial concept and through a methodical process refine them.
Samples - Taking those ideas and turning them into actual tangible garments and jewelry.
Final Pieces - A cohesive collection of jewelry, clothing, and accessories.
Presentation - A final presentation that showcases the collection.
