BONUSES AND STUFF
Earlier today, we received this from a Kickstarter representative:
"Congrats on all your project's momentum! I'm writing, though, because your project was reported today for having a raffle.
This is against our guidelines -- I realize it's all over and done with so that's fine, but please refrain from doing any more contests, raffles, discounts, giveaways, etc. We want all backers to have the same chance at the same rewards."
Therefore, if we do reach the $25,000 funding goal, we cannot offer another raffle as intended. But...what we can do is give each backer who ordered a copy of Carnival the official Wild! Die. Chessex has again done a superb job of creating a custom die to our select specifications; isn't it purty?! After much thought, we designed this die as a way to add even more replayability to the game. This die can replace one of the three used in the base game; if your roll lands on the "!" side (this is where the "6" normally is), you can assign it whatever value you like!
We appreciate all of the feedback we received about possible bonuses, and took them all into consideration. We ultimately chose this Wild! Die by asking ourselves the following question: What could we give back to our supporters to add to the Carnival experience that would also comply with shipping logistics? We feel we've come up with an addition that we all can be really excited about!
THE SAGA OF THE TICKET TOTE
We're not gonna get into the whole story, but...let's just say that a certain delivery man is in hot water with his supervisor and we apparently have a package stealing phantom in our building. Intrigued? So are we. Have no fear, though. Our beloved tote providers are here to save the day and have kindly resent (by overnight shipping!) our sample. This means that it should be in our hands tomorrow or Friday, and we'll update you with some visuals as soon as we can.

@Sayburr - The rules structure of Carnival won't allow players to discard a Wild card to roll dice or affect dice rolls, as players have to choose whether to discard a WIld OR roll the dice. However, we could see a variant or house rule that allows players to discard a Ticket in order to use the die. Of course, that's risky, as there is only a 1 in 6 chance that they will be able to get the Wild! face, so more than likely players would hold their Tickets and wait to influence the die by adding or subtracting a pip. Also, the Wild! Die is definitely meant to be supplemental. We recommend playing the base game with the official rules first, and then introducing the Wild! Die later on to mix things up and add replayability - and just a fair bit of chaos. :)
Very nice! I think I like the idea that you could use this die only if you roll triples. You get the usual two dice actions and roll the red die for the mystery third choice. That's just my thought of how I will use it.
The die looks great! Really nice idea, I like this a lot more than another raffle.
