I just found out from Benny Sperling (BGG User: benny275) that Dragon Valley is a nominee for the About.Com's Best Strategy Game of 2011!!!

Update #20: Dragon Valley - Just the beginning of a great future
Dragon Valley has arrived!
By now, most of you have received your copies of Dragon Valley. I hope you were impressed with the components and game play! From personal comments I have received, I truly feel the game is a success and that it will be played for years to come.

What is next?
Now the momentum to the public is building! As of this writing, Dragon Valley is on the BoardGameGeek Games Hotness list on the left hand section of the website! A great sign that people are taking notice.
Public availability of the game has been announced in press releases, including the announcement of an upcoming review by Tom Vasel. My fingers are crossed that it is something he enjoys a whole lot. I have also been told UndeadViking will be reviewing as well!

Availability
If your friends ask you how to get a copy of Dragon Valley for themselves, the game is now available from http://www.diamondkgames.com and will be in many local game stores March 2, 2012. The three exclusive Kickstarter cards are no longer available. Only you, the backers of the Kickstarter project have available copies. Share wisely! :-)
Exciting News - BGG Promo - Hunt for the Fugitive:
A new promo card for Dragon Valley will be available from the BGG Store at the end of February, 2012. "Hunt for the Fugitive" is a King's Aid card that can be added to the deck and gives a choice of special actions. These include: Move a single Enemy or Friendly Unit one or two spaces, Add a prisoner to your dungeon OR Score prisoners in the dungeon. It has similarities to the standard card Squashed Rebellion, but gives more choice yet more specific effects.

Upcoming Dragon Valley Tournament
Diamond K Games will be hosting a Dragon Valley Tournament on February 18 starting at 12pm at Dallas Games Marathon. Note that there is an entry fee to attend Dallas Games Marathon. Entry into the tournament is free with paid entry into DGM.
Prizes include a Diamond K Games T-Shirt, a limited Dragon Valley Print and a copy of the standard game. (T-Shirt Size can be selected at time of announcing the winner at 8pm on February 18.) Update #17: Do you see the boat? They say it is close!
The mini-games, prints, and t-shirts are at the fulfillment company. Just waiting for two extremely important pieces, the Game and KickStarter Promo Cards.
The shipping company said the Dragon Valley copies should be in the US and unloaded on January 23. Then I get to find out if Customs inspections will delay it or not. Oh the stress!
I won't have a good ETA on the games until the copies arrive at Game Salute.

Thanks for your patience! When starting the project I knew board game publishing was time consuming and did everything I could to speed up the process. I did things like having the art files and rule book (other than backer names) ready to go. I am still amazed at the length of time but, we are getting so close.

Diamond K Games is a small board game design and publishing company Northeast of Dallas, Texas.
CW Karstens has a host of prototypes. His print on demand releases include Field Hospital and Mystic Cauldron. Dragon Valley is his current creation which is in development by Diamond K Games. It was a successful Kickstarter project that ended on August 14, 2011. It it targeted to be delivered to backers in January 2012.
