Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this. My name is Daniel Hernández. I love music, fashion, photography and, most of all, entrepreneurship.

"EXTRINSIC" will be the first of several short films that will eventually compose a full-length movie. The project will depict the transition of my life as a fashion designer, which began in a third world country, in the middle of a war between the drug cartel of Colombia and the government, to immigrating to the United States at a young age, to having the opportunity to work and study in Paris next to some of the most influential people in the fashion industry, to my most recent adventure in Amsterdam where I won first place in a competition among over 800 designers from 72 countries.

The purpose of this short film  is to empower other people who, like me, have come from difficult places and find themselves with no hope. I would like to share my story and, at the same time, create more work for the incredible group of fashion professionals with whom I currently work. I also find it essential to create more diversity within our local fashion community by creating new approaches to the way we present fashion.

It is my goal to engage the public with a compelling story that mixes fashion with some of the very sad times in history. The city of Medellin where I was born was one of the most dangerous places to live  during the early 1990's. Yet this situation did not stop me from dreaming big and making it to places in the world I never dreamed of. Passion for fashion and life is the message of "EXTRINSIC."
