Great American Cities is a photo book series that explores the beauty found in cities across America. Volume 1 explores the Heartland.
The Project
Everywhere you look, there are photos that focus on the dark, seedy underbelly of cities - urban decay, gang wars, traffic-turned-parking lot. But, American cities have so much more to offer. They are the heart and soul of the American economy. They are centers for culture and entertainment, alike. Cities have a pulse of their own. If you listen close enough, you can feel it.
"Great American Cities" is a series of photography books that show the beautiful side of these cities. The lights, the art, the people... all of the things that make cities the beautiful things they are!
Volume One will focus on cities around America's Heartland. Included in Volume One will be: Grand Rapids, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Des Moines, Iowa; Indianapolis, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Cleveland, Ohio; and Detroit, Michigan.
Funding Breakdown
All funds will go to costs associated with production and reward fulfillment. The specifics are:
- Vehicle rental: $1500
- Gas: $1090
- Food: $330
- Lodging: $692
- Prizes and Rewards: $4000
- First short-run of books: $388
No funds will be reserved as profit, on my behalf. Every penny pledged to this project will be invested in making this project the absolute best it can be. And it can be amazing. If we surpass our funding goal, all of those funds will be put toward the project, as well. The more we can raise, the bigger and better this project will be!
