About this project
WHAT WE WANT TO DO
We (Deepak & Nitin Mantena) are two brothers from Oxford, Mississippi. We've been making films since we were kids and have gained all sorts of experience on both sides of the camera. Our comedy work has been featured in several film festivals (including the Rooftop Comedy Festival, Oxford Film Festival, UIUC iMovie Contest).
Celery TV is a sketch comedy series we're working on (similar to Mr. Show, Upright Citizens Brigade, Tim & Eric). We're big advocates of DIY culture and have had the dream to produce our own spin on a sketch comedy series for quite some time now.
WHAT YOU ARE FUNDING
You are funding season one of Celery TV. Season one will be six episodes, freely available for anyone to download as a video podcast. All the films we've shot so far we've funded completely out of our own pockets, so we've gotten pretty good at budgeting. The funding you provide will help us pay for:
- Equipment costs, including hard drives, cameras, props, etc.
