Update #2: hello Man vs. Bear backers!
Aloha to all ye Man vs. Bear backers:
Album is getting closer to a release date.
Just wanted to let you know that we are recording the final vocals
for the album and adding the final touches over the next month
and a half.
Album is due in April. Fingers croseed.
And then of course cookies, shirts, music, etc.
Thank you and I'll update this when we are certain of a release.

Update #1: Update!
Just wanted to update all of the backers and potential backers of Man vs. Bear on the progress of the album!
Right now I'm about halfway done with the album. Looks like the rest of October will be spent editing the 17 songs that will on the finished CD. November I'm touring to Colorado and Hawaii, after which I'll return to the Midwest in December to record all of the lead vocals and harmonies for the album.
My hope is that the final mixing and tweaks will be finished in the month of January, send to the printers in February, and release the album in April.
Albums always take much longer than anticipated, and the same goes for Man vs. Bear. If the project is a success by this Friday, the rewards (CDs, T shirts, cookies, etc!) will be returned when the album is completed and printed. So we're looking at the spring of 2011 for a release date.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of the 60-plus backers of this project. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and is motivating me to make this album top-notch. Spread the word to your friends as we approach the pledge drive deadline this Friday at midnight.

Dave Bess was born and raised in Hawaii. Oahu. Palolo and Honolulu. He now lives in Iowa City, IA because Iowa City rocks and he is recording his first solo album there. He plans to move to Los Angeles when the album is finished. He will return to Iowa City to release it. Home is in your head.
