Incognito is an exciting fantasy book. Dawson Vosburg is an excited author. He also happens to be a teenager.

I am Dawson Vosburg, an author who wants to send a multitude of people to a magical island I've come to know and love inside my imagination, through my newest book. The island of Pimrise--where a boy named Peter Connelly works as an apprentice mapmaker, working magic, learning weaponry, and solving a great mystery along the way. The book is entitled being the first part of Connelly & Connelly detailing the events of the Incognito.
Or you can just call it Incognito. (The book started out being just Incognito--and I added onto the title as I wrote the book.)
In addition to the book, I'm developing a curriculum for geography and English classes. A lot of kids struggle with maps and geographical concepts--they can be confusing. But one of the things that started me on this book was a geography class project my teacher made up where we invented a fictional island and drew maps of it.
That really got me started with making the imaginary world, especially the apprentice mapmaker part. It made geography fun and interesting.
So I've decided to share this learning and creativity: I'm making a curriculum and giving it away for free. It's integrated between geography and English, where you design your fictitious world with real map skills and write a story about that world in English class. And to schools close enough I'll visit, share my story, and teach some of the curriculum.
I am going to be publishing the book mid-Summer of this year. I'm going to be publishing it myself, considering the fact that the mainstream publishers have not caught up to independent music in their business model. And as you can imagine, independently publishing a novel is quite expensive, akin to studio hours in the music business.
I know it seems early to be starting this project, but you might know that the publishing process (especially if it is to be successful) takes quite a long time.
So where will your hard earned cash go? Well, the main culprits are: -Editors -Copyeditors (there is a difference) -Shipping -Shipping -More shipping -Printing -Illustrations and a cover (20 black and white pencil illustrations and a jacket designed by Phil Dragash, artist extraordinaire)
But most of all you'd show your support of independent authors and young art/learning. Teens often get pushed to the fringes, seen as simply a pain. Why not help them prove themselves?
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
