Love is Meat is a book of Midwestern poetry and short stories by David W. Pedersen.

Born in the back lot of the Slaughtering House in which his parents fell in love, David W. Pedersen delivers an eccentric take on The Erroneous All American Dream. Pedersen takes on the challenge of dictating the predictable, classic Midwestern American Mind-set, with the penmanship of a nauseated outsider.

Love is Meat delegates the mundane from the surreal, the cynical from the optimistic, and the sensate from the senseless. Topics included are gracious waivers/realized prostitutes, retiring magicians, teenage catholic pregnancy, feral suburbanite hounds and over prescribed housewives, bacon infused neighborhoods, and overwhelmed bowling victors.

The author invites you to wade the deep waters of America (equal parts humor and hopelessness) through an assortment of panic attacks and religious contradictions. If you have ever questioned whether another human being contemplates the accepted insanity of the social order - this is the book for you. If you have ever questioned the thoughts of the man at the bus stop grinning under a tin foil hat - then this book was made for you.
