WHAT'S THE FILM ABOUT?

THE FOREVER PEOPLE is an ambitious independent short film project touching on fresh new concepts and powerful storytelling. A young woman named Lorelei awakes in a strange farmhouse and finds herself hunted by a supernatural entity calling himself  'Sebastian.' He can teleport. He heals rapidly. He has enhanced strength and tracking capabilities. In this hopeless one-sided confrontation, Lorelei fights desperately until she discovers the one weapon powerful enough to defeat him: Herself.

Inevitably, this story is about a woman coming into her own power. About refusing to be a victim. About taking a stand and remembering who she is.

Mythos: The Forever People are a race of supernatural beings currently unknown to the natural world. If a child dies before it is born, the soul of that child becomes a Forever Person. The souls manifest the body they would have had (had they been born) and can appear at any age they choose. They have unnatural abilities such as teleportation, rapid healing, and enhanced strength, just to name a few. Emotionally distraught with memories of an entire lifetime that never existed, they walk the earth neither alive nor dead, neither ghosts nor flesh. If you're never born, are you real? The Forever People are tortured souls with broken minds. And some of them...are not very nice.

WHAT'S THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT?

We will be shooting 5 days throughout October. We plan to run the film through film festivals to get the word out and raise interest for funding a full feature. Though this is a short film, it is truly the workload of a feature. And the potential for this is AMAZING. Multiple feature films. Comic books. Television series. Video games (which would be astounding!). The potential is uuuge (and you know that's big, because there's just no room for the H!:)

We have an amazing team that grows and gets better every day. We're unbelievably excited about this. I hope you will be too.:)

WHY ARE YOU MAKING THIS?

I believe that independent film productions can be better than anything Hollywood can deliver. The richness, depth, and power in films comes not from multi-million dollar budgets, but from visionaries and creatives and collaborations between amazing talents. When you do something for the love of it, magic happens. The world tells you it's risky to be true to yourself. But it is this ruthless authenticity that creates films that touch, move, and inspire you. It is this relentless pursuit of integrity within oneself that moves mountains and makes miracles happen.

For the kind of film we want to make, $7500 is very small, it will be very tight for us to stretch it, but it can be done. $10,000 would allow us to properly pay people, but due to it being an all-or-nothing campaign, we set it to a lower amount in order to meet the goal. For myself, I have complete faith in this project and I maxed out my credit card with $2500 and invested another $600 just for the special fx materials alone. And this is just to get started. All the money donated from Kickstarter will be given to the production and pay for cast, crew, catering, set builds, digital fx, post sound, music, etc. I believe in jumping into the water head first, body and all. No testing the water with my big toe. For me, it's like life: it's either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
