@Some Guy: Just sent you a Private Message. Some folks didn't get the message last week for some reason...If you didn't see it, message me and I'll re-send.
Thanks!
Dave
Hey Mr. Board, did you ever put out instructions for the Mac version of the beta? I found the file, but the password wasn't the same as what you put in your beta release message.
Thanks, Hobie! I'm going to stick my neck out and say the next few weeks will be VERY productive, and I will have some truly great new things to share...
David!!! I'm so excited for this its looking great I'm impressed!!!
looking great, thanks for the updates.
Well, as a suggestion create the forums for the site, but you could keep the Beta section private if you want (for people who qualify as Beta testers). You could send out codes to those that have qualified for beta testing, so they can enter it upon registering at the site.
Or you could just make the beta section of the forum open to everyone if you prefer.
That way, you should have an established community up and running for when the game gets a full release.
Hi Evan,
Yes I'll definitely need a way for everybody to provide feedback, but I haven't decided which way to go with that. I'd prefer a hosted solution for ease of management...though I'm fully capably of installing/running my own boards. I welcome any suggestions!
You going to make a forum for this game around the time you release the beta?
I'm excited for this game!!! Looks amazing!
Really looking forward to this one, just wish I had a little more to spare at the moment.
Thanks, Anthony! I couldn't do it without the support of my backers!
I have to say I am really impressed with the way Indy game developers are working. There is so much talent out there. Good work, I hope this game opens up a plethora of options for your crew. I am really excited to play Lifeless Planet.
Love that kickstarter is enabling more independent games and media to be made. Looking forward to the game and hopefully its success such that you can continue to make more games like this.
If you'll forgive the advertising of another kickstarter project. A sci-fi movie on kickstarter that looks awesome and could use more backers: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1473496943/span-a-science-fiction-film
Thanks Patrick!
250 your way ^^ Really looking forward to seeing the complete work ^^
When i have to choose between Adventure and killing things. i prefer adventures since my eye hand coordination sucks :) so.. lets hope i survive the beta testing :D
Jay: We haven't made final decisions about distribution...though Steam is a possibility.
Evan: Yes, I intend to include English subtitles.
Oh, this is a big one that I forgot to ask!
Will you have English Subtitles? I mean for all the voice work, not just the non-English bits. I'm hearing impaired, see >_>
Hey, David! Lifeless Planet looks like it'll be a great game, and I can't wait to see it come to fruition. I was wondering if you guys were looking to Steam for potential distrubution?
HI ALL: Just a quick reminder that I will be tied up most of the day Thursday. Post your questions as they come and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks! And thanks again for an awesome day!!!
Sebastion: I plan to ship everywhere, and I think that may actually be a requirement of Kickstarter...so no problem!
Just pledged 10 bucks for now and will probably up it if i find the money for it.
While i search my room for money i'd like to know if shipping all the way to Denmark (Europe) would be a problem?
Finally got back home to pledge but here's to your success, hope everything turns out great
Found this on Reddit. Great to see that you are almost there! Can't wait for beta.
Evan: Sorry, forgot to say that shipping to CA is no problem...
NOTE: I'll be out of the office most of the day on Thursday so apologies if I'm slow to respond tomorrow. Be sure to check out the FAQ section at the bottom of the project home tab if you have questions about release dates or rewards. Thanks guys!
Thanks very much for the kind words, Russell!
Hi Evan, thanks again for your pledge! I'm shooting for a partial beta by January. That would be a bit ambitious if it were a beta of the full game. I'm thinking (at least) a single level/world. One thing I don't want to do is put the whole story out there with the beta....but stay tuned for updates as things progress.
Hey David Board good luck on the project it's looking great right now! You have almost met your goal so here's hoping the pledge's keep coming as you certainly deserve it from what i've seen. I'm looking forward to any future media updates as it can only get better. It may be a long ride though but in the end i'm sure it would of been worth every second.
Hi Phill...thanks so much! I know about watching expenditures with the wife...nice that you only have to go to the couch! haha, jk...
Gamesradar lead me here. I do imagine you'll get a number of backers from there. I put in $50, not a lot, relatively speaking, but it helps I'm sure XD
What's the ETA on the beta testing? I gather sometime after October, but well before the estimated July release date right?
BTW: I do hope that you won't have problems shipping posters to Canada?
It's nice to see more good indie development in much needed genres. Wish I could afford 1k lol.
pcgamer has put an article up for this, by the way. That's how I found this.
oh yeah found you via reddit...
Love the way you are going with this game, wish I could give more than 10... but I think the wife might place me on a lifeless planet, also known as the couch, if I spend any more money...
Hi Jared, Yes I see no problem with that. I realize the Kickstarter pledge system doesn't really make it easy to do that, but I can just work it out with you directly. When the pledge drive is over (and we meet the goal!!!) send me a message (the envelope icon) with a reminder...
NOTE: this couldn't be done if you choose a higher rewards level...unless you give double that rewards level or more (so you could get double the $50 rewards, but only if you pledge $100 and then select the $50 reward). Hope this makes sense to others reading this.
If I pledge $20 at the "$10 level", can I preorder two copies? Would like to give one as a gift.
Hi Andre, I'm building the game with Unity and right now they don't have support for Linux, but I am told...it's coming. If/when that happens, then YES. I'd say there's a good chance you'll see Lifeless Planet for Linux, but it will just depend on what happens with Unity in the next 6 mos.
Hi, there is any chance of linux version?
Found via RockPaperShotgun as well. We need more games like this :D
Haha, um yes...I see that! Thank you RPS!
10%? You're almost at 25%!
Found you via RockPaperShotgun.
