Nantucket CD Release Party: Saturday, December 10th
Dear Friends,
Producer Emerson Torrey and I are working this week on the final mixes for My Favorite Ghost in preparation for mastering by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering in Boston on November 9th. Jeff's client list includes Arcade Fire, Andrew Bird, LCD Soundsystem, the Pernice Brothers, Josh Ritter, Spoon, and Wilco. Needless to say, the final step in this creative process is in more than capable hands.
The CD will be available the first week in December, at which time it will be mailed to all backers along with other rewards. I can't wait to get it into your hands.
The Nantucket Release Party is set for Saturday, December 10th at the Chicken Box. It's going to be a memorable night, with Mark Cutler, Emerson Torrey, and others making the trip for the event. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!

Album Update and Preview Tracks
Dear Friends,
Last Thursday and Friday we completed what were, more than likely, the final recording sessions for the album, which now has a title: "My Favorite Ghost." The tracks are now in Emerson Torrey's capable hands, and he will spend the next few weeks mixing with my input; the project will then go to grammy-winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig in Portland, Maine for his treatment before it is duplicated and packaged. If all goes according to plan, the record will be in the hands of backers sometime in October and to the general public shortly thereafter. Below is a link to sample rough mixes of what will likely be the first three tracks on the album: Hall of Bones (from which the album title is taken), Little Red Guitar, and Hula Girl. There is still some work to be done on these in the mixing/mastering processes, but I wanted to share some of the "raw" material with you so you have a flavor to hopefully whet your appetite.
