Update #3: Color 3D Printing Is Awesome
We used a little bit of each color to print a whistle so we could show off how cool it is to print in color!
We feel like we should tell you that after we launched our project we were surprised and happy to see that some others launched colored ABS projects within the same day. Both MakerGear.com and MakerBot.com started offering colored ABS in small batches on their web stores.
So we ordered a tiny bit and made the whistles you see above.
Now that it's possible to buy color in small batches from others, we won't be very sad if this project is not funded. We still want to make the big order, but we are happy that their are more options out there and we are not needed as much now. If you print anything in color let us know so we can see!

Update #2: Shipping
We're not close to done yet, but I just wanted to get this out here early. It looks like there will be a charge for shipping if you choose one of the larger rewards. Shipping is not included in the "price". We think we're going to use some of those flat rate boxes from the USPS and that would mean about $12-$15 for a shipment in the US and about $30-$60 for international. For the whistles, it will cost even less to ship. So, just want to be up front about that. I'm figuring it out as I go. Thanks!
Update #1: New Reward: Whistles!
We are now offering a new reward! If you pledge $5 we will print you a whistle like the one seen above, but yours will be printed in the color of your choice. You can choose any of the 6 colors we will have: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black or Natural.
The whistle is a favorite worldwide of MakerBot and RepRap Operators because it's fun, and functional. Believe me, this whistle really works and is loud! The model we're using is one uploaded to a fantastic website called Thingiverse.com by a brilliant designer called Zaggo. Check out his other creations.
