SEVER is a completely FAN FUNDED feature film in THREE ACTS.SEVER is a cross between TWIN PEAKS, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and Polanski's REPULSION and is considered a psycho-sexual thriller.
SYNOPSIS:
On a cold and foggy morning, the ocean delivers a killer to a small island off the coast of Massachusetts. His arrival is seen only by a young girl trapped inside of a lobster cage- a girl who will never be allowed to divulge the secrets of the man who has imprisoned her.
The man calls himself Patrick, an escaped schizophrenic patient who sets up camp, moving into a young woman's home. Unbeknown to her, Patrick begins twisting her reality, making her think she's living with demons and committing heinous crimes. For him it's the ultimate rush.
"Sever" is more than the typical genre version of a serial killer. It's a look into the mind and through the eyes of a killer. A man who has devoted his considerable skill and intelligence towards a horrific end that only he can understand- and which only a true independent psychological film can show. From beginning to end, "Sever" will pull no punches, and it will not be forgotten as easily as most mainstream efforts are- first it will make you squirm, and then it will haunt you.
NOTE: You won’t be charged anything unless the full amount of $5,000 is raised. If we don't get to our limit, then everything will be returned to you.

OUR GOAL: We're raising financing for ACT ONE of our feature film SEVER. Once finances are raised we'll begin production by mid Fall 2011. Upon completion of the first act it will be available as an UNRATED HiRez HD download. We will then begin to raise funds for the 2nd and 3rd acts. Each act runs for approx 30 min. We would prefer to surpass our goal for a multitude of reasons. Our biggest being not having too start/stop our production schedule and being able to deliver you a full length feature. We have posted April 2012 release date, this is based on raising enough to shoot the whole feature, not just the 1st act.
- BECOME A PRODUCER: Yes, we're offering producer credits to funders who purchase the film outright. You, the Producer, are the beginning of the next phase of Hollywood history, where you personally become invested in films. It's a brave new world and we're delivering a film that you want to see as well as being able to ask questions of us and we can answer you via TWITTER directly. Added, is a wealth of supplemental material that will also be available to you. Your name will appear at the end of the film under specific PRODUCER credits as well as a credit on both the Sever the Movie and IMDB websites.

BECOME ONE OF THE CREW VIA TELECOMMUNICATION: We're offering a chance for you to be one of us, a graphic artist, filmmaker, author and wardrobe designer. You can live 5000 miles away to do it and still be able to work with Director D.W. Kann and be able to not only see your
work on screen, but use it in your reel or portfolio. Fabrication of various props/wardrobe are needed for the picture. Once completed, you would send them to us for placement. Photos will be taken of the actor/s using your prop or wearing your wardrobe which will be posted on the DSF/SEVER website. We will include your credit at the end of the film and on the Sever the Movie and IMDB websites. All props/wardrobe become property of Darkside Films.

THE FILM: SEVER will be released as a Hi-Rez digital downloadable file along with supplemental material and full soundtrack. This is the future of movie making and has already begun with the likes of Netflix and Redbox. It also keeps with us being fiscally responsible filmmakers.

PATRICK: Is currently an inmate at the Necropolis Insane Asylum. You are able to keep up with him via his blog through www.severthemovie.com. This was started as a monitored patient outreach program. DW Kann was the first person to interview Patrick when he entered the asylum back in the mid 90's. Here you will learn about him before experiencing SEVER.
