Update #18: Studio Neat Turns One!
Update #17: New Project!
Hello Kickstarter Backers!
Well, it’s been a crazy and amazing last few months, and we’re finally ready for another Kickstarter project! We’re calling it the Cosmonaut. It is a minimal, wide-grip capacitive stylus for touch screen devices. Here is the project page.
The idea for this project actually came out of a blog post that Dan did right after the Glif Kickstarter campaign ended. We realized that the perfect stylus for an iPad should be designed to feel like a dry erase marker. Some people seemed to agree, so we thought hey, maybe this can be our second project. We’ve been working on it for the past few months and we have finally arrived at something that we are really excited about.
Like the Glif, we’ll need your help to make this project a reality. We’re trying something new this time around, by instituting a “pay-as-you-wish” payment model, a la Radiohead. Essentially, if you want to become a backer, you can pledge as little or as much as you feel this product is worth to you. We’re very interested to see how this pricing model works out.
Thank you all so much for your continued support. We’re very fortunate to be able to do what we love, and it’s all because of you guys.
Tom & Dan
PS. There is a very very small percentage of you that have not received your Glifs. This is most likely because we never got your shipping address via the survey we sent out. If you are logged into Kickstarter, there should be a banner at the top of the page that says “Action Needed!” You can fill out the survey from there, and we will get your Glif shipped out ASAP. If you did fill out the survey, but never received your Glif, please email us at info@theglif.com and we will make things right. Thanks!
Update #16: The Glifs are Shipping
Hello friends,
Well, it seems the grand finale of this project is in sight, as we have started to ship out the Glifs to our backers. Please be patient if you haven't received a confirmation email yet, it will take the fulfillment center a few days to get through all of the orders.
We wanted to take this moment to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. It has been an amazing journey so far, one that will continue on into the future. We're still blown away by the response this project has received, as well as all of your enthusiasm and support. We love that it is possible for two guys to have an idea and turn it into a reality, with the help from a spirited crowd. We live in an awesome world.
We will continue to monitor this project page and check our Kickstarter messages, but moving forward the best way to contact us is on twitter (@theglif) or email (info@theglif.com).
We are so excited for everyone to get their Glifs. If you like it, tell a friend (theglif.com)! If you don't like it, tell us (info@theglif.com). Your comments are incredibly important to us; after all, you're why we're here.
Cheers,
Tom & Dan
Update #15: Making the Glif
Hello all,
We cut together a little short film documenting our trip to Premier Source in South Dakota, and more specifically the manufacturing process of the Glif. It's embedded below, or you can check it out in HD on Vimeo here.
We hope you enjoy!
Regarding the Glif's status, everything is moving along. The packaging / boxing should be happening at the end of this week, and everything will be shipped out to the fulfillment center early next week. From there it will be a few days before orders begin shipping out. We can't wait for you all to see them; it's been a wild ride and we can't believe we're nearing the end (of this chapter, at least).
Cheers,
Tom & Dan

Update #14: Online Store
Hello friends,
Today we launched our online store at www.theglif.com. We created this for a couple reasons:
- For anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter campaign, or
- Anyone that wanted to order multiple quantities.
Rest assured, this has no effect on your orders as a Kickstarter backer. We are fulfilling your orders first. You guys are the reason we're here!
Regarding when you will receive your Glifs, we are working against some very tight timelines but still believe you will receive them before Christmas, at least for domestic orders. As always, we will keep you informed of any updates in the future!
We're really happy with how the injection molded Glifs turned out and we can't wait for you guys to have them.
Cheers,
Tom & Dan

Great product, communications, etc. Can you think a little about the phrase 'domestic'. I dont live in the US so I feel a better phrase might be US customers, European customers, etc. I'm still amused at some Internet users idea that the Internet stops at the US border :-).
I also hope the reasons your US customers might be the only ones to get their Glifs before Christmas is because of the difference it takes to ship elsewhere and not because you are favouring one set of Kickstarters over another? Looking forward very much to getting mine thought!

@ Keith Robertson - That's correct, totally based on shipping times.

Hey there...Oops...I just realized that I just went in for the 50$ without noticing the extra 8$ for international shipping. Since I'm in Sweden I would still love to get it shipped here.
Advice on fixing the balance?

How is this different from the Spider Holster ? Is it an improvement of the Spider design?
