From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for supporting the creation of my first album, The Blade. My Kickstarter campaign in May was so unexpectedly successful, I raised more than double my goal. I celebrated in part by going on a little Kickstarter binge, paying your immense generosity forward to support other creative workers.
Two days ago, as a last act before boarding a plane for Tokyo, I packaged up cloth album posters of The Blade for shipping to my $10 and up backers, w/ extra goodies according to the pledge level. Expect them in your mailboxes soon. Backers who sprang for the rewards from Japan can expect them in the next few months when I get settled into my new home near Yokohama.
I'll be traveling in the mountains and highlands of Japan this month, soaking up a new sensory and cultural landscape that is already weaving new musical threads in me. I'll probably be here for at least a year, teaching at a university. Yesterday, on a campus tour, I was shown the high-end music recording studio housed in my department. That was a surprise. Hmm.... Already thinking about album #2.
In parting, here's a live music video just released and beautifully produced by The Red Couch Project. It features three songs, two from The Blade and one from my single, Sea Inside. If you like it, check out the encore, with my song, The Way I See.
Enjoy. I'll be thinking of you.
With love, from Japan,
