      Hi Joann: Thanks so much for the support. I can't wait to get started with this project. Please send me a link to your Kickstarter page when you are up and running, and I can post it on Facebook, etc.

      The Kickstarter process has been pretty hard -- there were many days I didn't think we would make it to $4,000. The best advice I can give is to be persistent, even if you feel like you are bugging people. I used a lot of Facebook, Twitter and Google+ promotion, which basically meant I was harassing people I knew. It didn't feel very good but it was the only way to get the message out.

      I also had some luck by joining LinkedIn groups related to animal issues -- I think I picked up 4 or 5 pledges that way. There are also a number of Facebook animal/rescue-related groups that are good to join.

      The best thing would be to get some publicity through Kicsktarter by getting on one of their staff-pick pages. I never was able to do this. My theory is that they choose projects that have fun, quirky videos, so you may want to consider that when making your page.

      Finally, I would ask for the absolute minimum amount of money you need to do the project. You can always make more but if you don't get the goal you set, you get none of the money at all.

      I love your illustrattions, your story and your message, It is inpsirational to know that it will help raise awareness about abandoned animals. A writer and I (an illustrator) are collaborating on a similar project about 2 abandoned kittens and their adventure to find a home. That's how I found your project, because I looked up on Kickstarter about this topic to see if anyone else was doing it. We are in the east PA,/NJ area, and would like to promote our book here. Do you have any words of advice you'd be willing to share about your Kickstarter experience?
