Update #15: And we're off!
Hi Crew -
Yes, it's true we've got 6 days left until our Kickstarter ends, but we're headed off today to start filming. We'll be heading to Boston tonight, and Maine tomorrow morning.
But first a few important things:
New Site Launched Take a moment and visit hungrypedaler.com. It's our brand new site, just launched, and powered by our sponsor Squarespace.com. From the road we'll be using their iPhone app to post updates and photos - so please tune in their, read what we're up to, and leave us love in the comments.
Postcard & Goodie Peeps If you've pledged at the level where we're mailing you things from the road - like postcards and gifts - it's manditory that you post your address in our Google Doc by midnight tonight, if you haven't already. Click here for the form.
We're off! Thanks for all the support - talk to you from the road.
Dan & Miko.
Update #14: 8 Days to Go!
Hey Gang -
Last time we talked we were 4% over funding. Today, I'm pleased to announce we've surpassed that and have received an additional 13% funding - bringing The Hungry Pedaler to 117% funded! Amazing!
What will we be doing with that extra funding? Well, now that we've reached 15% above our goal, we'll be putting that into having great motion graphics done for the show. If we reach 130% we'll get someone to design something spectacular on top of the Squarespace platform that will be running the show.
So, big thanks to Lisa, Dorothy, Judith, Zachary, Colleen, Jeffrey, Daryn, Chris, Ann who (along with everyone else that's backed the show) brought us to 117%. Thanks all!
On another note - our bottles just arrived from Camelbak. Check out the video below for a preview of them.
Can only wait to see where we go from here!
2 days left until we ride!
Thanks,
Dan
Update #13: Need your info!
Update #12: 12 Days to Go!
Hey Friends -
Another big thanks for helping us reach our goal in record time!
Since we last spoke, a few more backers have come on to support the show. Thanks to Uncle Dan, Sarah, Cristina, Jeremy, Aaron, Eileen to pushing us all the way to 104%!!!
In the upcoming week we're going to see if we can go above and beyond our goal, and use the extra funding for post production and motion graphics.
Hope everyone's having a great Sunday! Talk to ya'll tomorrow.
Thanks,
Dan
Update #11: WE DID IT!!!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL!
Today, at 3:00pm on the dot, we made it to 100% of our goal!
Big thanks to everyone who got us there: Angelique, Jeremiah, Robyn, De Angela, Lincoln, John, Samantha, Gennady, Ethan, Justin, Travis, Adam and Michael.
So, it's on! We've met the complete $6500 we need to create The Hungry Pedaler! We'll be leaving in a little over a week to film. Details to come.
And remember, Kickstarter doesn't end for another 15 days... so if you know people that still might want to pledge, it would be amazing to exceed our goal!
Thanks so much everyone,
Dan
Update #10: Day 9 - Almost there! & new reward!
Howdy Crew -
Sorry for the lack of updates yesterday. I recently injured my hip flexor muscles and was out of commission yesterday. Sad news.
But the good news is we met and exceeded our goal! We're currently at 93% funded! Big thanks to all of our backers, and a special shout out to those who just joined: Corinne, Marcia, Ari, Harry, Kwan, Wafels & Dinges, SpendLessTv, Elizabeth, Derek, Neil, Ray, & Nicole.
We've only 7% to do. Let's try and get to 5% remaining by the end of the day!
New Reward!
In other news, we decided we should throw a pre-screening for more of our backers on Kickstarter than those who pledged $250 or more. So, we're lobbing off the "0" in $250. That's right! Anyone who backs the project for $25 or more will be invited to a pre-screening of The Hungry Pedaler in NYC.
Expect a private message about this shortly.
Thanks for the support everyone! We're almost there!
Dan
Update #9: Day 7 Update - Just shy. :(
Hi Crew -
Good news & not as good news.
The good news is we have some new backers who joined since our last update! Shout outs to Anita, Beth, Kori, Tyler, Eliza, James, & Penelope who helped push us towards yesterday's aggressive goal of 90%.
The not as good news is that for the first time since this project started we've come shy of our goal. We were shooting for 90% and only got to 87% by midnight - which is currently where we're at.
No worries - there are still 17 days to go!
I'm going to still try and shoot for that 90% goal by the end of the day today - hopefully we'll get there!
If you know anyone who hasn't backed and would be interested, please share the project with them.
Some other headlines are that the bags by Arkel will be coming in today - as well as the camera equipment. I'll record a video about them both tonight and post it. Also, some big itinerary news coming tomorrow. Stay tuned!
Thanks!
Dan
Update #8: Shootin' for 90% & we're featured today!
Hey Crew -
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! The weather on the East Coast was beautiful - so much so that we went for a bike ride from NYC to Alpine, NJ and back - around 45 miles. The ride would have been more pleasant if I hadn't just put a new, unbroken-in, leather saddle on my bike. Ouch!
Well Monday's here and we're back on it. Over the weekend we were joined by a few new backers who helped bring us to 85% of our total goal. That means we only have 15% to go! Thanks to all of our backers for getting us there, and shout outs to the new backers: Shirley, Marcia, Richard, Nasabuzi, Kris, Eufemmefilms, and Zeb.
Today, we decided to set a relaxed goal - only 5% more - trying to get from 85% to 90% by midnight. Please take a moment to pass this to friends who might be interested.
Other news - we've been selected as Kickstarter's Project of the Day, and are being featured on the homepage of Kickstarter.com Awesome news! Thanks Kickstarter.
Again, thanks for pledging and helping us get to 90%!
