a multi-media mythical dance tale for 5 women: 4 dancers and one violinist. It includes dance, acting, stage-design, film and text. Each woman is asked to examine the meaning of treasures in her life that is often connected in our world to the material roam of having or not having, and to allow for a deeper understanding of treasures within herself. This work is loosely based on the book "The Alchemist" by Paolo Coelho. Five women meet in a spa to relax from their worries and rejuvenate themselves. Although even in this situation much of their daily lives is still creeping through the walls of the bath house, and influences their connections, but at the same time a constant shedding is taken place, layers of burdens and conflict get slowly taken off leading into a spiritual dance crescendo. On the program is also the short play "Await..." in 7 scenes delving into the agonies of the state of waiting.

"I have returned to my home country, the Czech Republic in 2009 which I left as a child under Communism. My father has fled in 1966 and my family was able to reunite with him in 1968 in Germany and eventually I moved to New York where I lived for almost 20 years on a permanent basis. My story has resonated very much with the book " The Alchemist" and  upon my returning  many treasures entered my life. Some are the wonderful artist that I met abroad and who join me here in New York. I would so much love to find a way to reimburse them fully for their flight tickets. At this point my budget does not allow me to do that, and yet all of them are coming anyway to perform and collaborate on this project, just inspired by its content and the beauty and spiritual nature of it all. I am truly grateful already, but would love to also receive financial treasures, so we can all feel to have accomplished a fine project, artistically and financially rewarding. This is my deepest wish."                                                                                          Dagmar Spain

We need truly your support, any amount of money will help for the travel expenses for Wayne Wong who is an amazing videographer and photographer living in Prague originally from Australia. We have met in a Buddhist meeting and he has been such an amazing force finding the exact visual expression for my work. His video is adding so much beauty and depth to the work. While in NY he will take photographs of the work and create a kind documentation of this project.

The wonderful dancer and choreographer Klara Burgess from Prague has been actually introduced to me through an email of a mutual friend in NY, and then we met and felt both that it was just perfect to work with each other. Klara has studied  at the Limon Institute in New York and had always the wish while being there to perform one day at Danspace Project/ St. Mark's Church. And her wish came true... and she will stay with our mutual friend's family while performing in NY.Adrienne Ramm is the mother of this mutual friend and she is creating original music on piano for the second piece on the program Await...

And then there is my friend and former teacher Carolyn Morrow who is the most wonderful writer and assistant director of this project. She is American and lives with her German husband and children in Munich. We have met during my time studying at Tisch School of the Arts in NY in the Master's program and she was my English teacher 20 years ago. We have lost contact and also through a mutual friend who lives in Munich reconnected again after many years. I believe that it was always our shared desire to work together one day. She wrote the most beautiful text for this work and also recorded it with many different women living in the Munich area. These voices will truly come from across the ocean and she will support to fine-tune both works ("Yellow is not Gold" and "Await...") by lending her many years of directing experiences to us.

I believe that there is no coincidence that I am bringing these talented artists to NY and I hope that this is only the beginning of a fruitful and ongoing collaboration between dear artists from Europe and New York.

It is our goal to cover all the travel related expenses. Everyone has bought their flight tickets with their own money at this point and it would be wonderful to honor all the collaborator's commitment to this work by being able to fully reimburse them for their efforts. It is my deepest pleasure to collaborate  with artists across the ocean and to connect my home country the Czech Republic with New York. In New York I would also like to thank my dear artistic collaborators and want to be able to pay them well for their efforts.

Thank you for being part of this journey in any way you can...and please enjoy you rewards and come to see the show, if you are in NY.
