UPDATE 2: FIRST STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED! NEW STRETCH GOAL ($1500) ANNOUNCED!! D20 BURLESQUE TOUR DOCUMENTARY!

For our next stretch goal—at $1,500—we're upgrading our Tour Diary! Right now, our tour diary will consist of regular, daily updates from each day of the tour, with photos, text, and even some video from the performers as we make our way there and back again!

This is all well and good, but with some more money, we could have more. More updates from performers! More media per update! More video! This would be the Expanded Tour Diary, available to all backers automatically!

We're not just going to expand the tour diary if we reach $1,500! We'll also collect even more high quality video footage and, then, after once the tour is complete, edit it together to make a genuine D20 Burlesque Tour Documentary! 

It will include footage from our various tour shenanigans (some of which you'll be able to see in raw form in the expanded tour diary) as well as footage from our performances in Columbus, Ohio and at Gen Con Indy in Indianapolis Indiana! If you've always wanted to know exactly what goes into making a nerdy burlesque tour, this is the stretch goal for you!

UPDATE 1: FUNDED!!! YAY! ALSO: FIRST STRETCH GOAL!! ($1,250)

It's been a wild ride, first behind the scenes getting the kickstarter up and running and then later once it was live, spreading the word, but it worked. In less than two days, we were able to reach our goal, thanks to YOU!!

We couldn't be happier here at D20 Burlesque HQ! We're also very excited to announce our first stretch goal: If we can raise $1,250, we'll schedule a special Kickstarter-exclusive Backer-exclusive photo shoot sometime in the next month or so. This will be a professional, pin-up photo shoot featuring the D20 "Dice Girl" (pictured), as well as a cadre of D20 regulars (the exact lineup will be determined once we hit $1,250).

The best images will be distributed digitally to all backers, and backers whose pledge rewards include the signed 8x10'' photo of the D20 Burlesque "Dice Girl" will have the option of receiving either the photo above (signed by the performers going to Gen Con, as usual), or switch it out for one of the photos from our Backer-exclusive photo shoot, signed by the shoot's participants!

Q: I want a signed 8x10'' photo from the Backer-exclusive photo shoot, but I chose the dice-bag reward (or the t-shirt reward, etc.)! What do I do?!
A: Well, first you have to keep spreading the word. If we don't make $1,250, there'll be no photo shoot! But don't fret!  Anyone donating at least $15 that wants to add a signed  8x10" pin-up photo from the Backer-exclusive shoot to their rewards can just add an extra $10 to their pledge (or 15$ for international backers).

 HELLO NERDS AND NON-NERDS ALIKE....

We are D20 Burlesque. We are "a New York-based Burlesque troupe with a very specific niche" [Kotaku] namely, gaming!! We put on a monthly show in NYC with a new nerdy theme each month.  D20 Burlesque performances have been praised for their "good balance of humor, sex appeal and artiness... It’s a fun, creative take on burlesque, with some impressively authentic nerdliness." [Player Affinity] and have even been called "proof that we live in the best of all possible nerd worlds!" [Topless Robot]

Recently we have begun to branch out to the world of conventions, specifically gaming conventions. We were invited to come perform at Gen Con Indy this August which is a big deal for us both because we will get the chance to perform for a large audience of people who would otherwise not get a chance to see our show and also because we are a bunch a nerds and OMG Gen Con!

We've got a wonderful cast of performers who will help us make this show a huge success and a memorable experience at this year's Gen Con:

Foxy Vermouth - Fresh from her hauntingly beautiful performance as Sniper Wolf in D20's "War Dames" show this past May
Satira Sin - Who wowed at our "8 Bit Beauties" show in June with her Mortal Kombat act!
Stella Chuu - A D20 Burlesque favorite who has been performing with us as long as she's been in the business! Her interminable Dragon Ball Z act being one of the many highlight's of this July's "WTF Japan?!" show!

We Need Your Moneys!

The snafu is this: We need your help! Performing a burlesque show is expensive! Performing a burlesque show four states away is even more expensive!! We'd need money for performer expenses as well as equipment rentals once we get to our space in Indianapolis. There is also the matter of our set pieces, props, performers, and costumes, all of which are currently located in New York City, but which need to be in Indianapolis, which is itself a pretty pricey issue.

We would also really like to be able to document our tour and make a really fun promotional package with it, showing our fans what it's like when D20 Burlesque takes to the road and invades one of the biggest gaming cons in the world! Producing this, too, takes moneys that we don't have.

As a thank you for your support we've come up with a bunch of swag that we hope you'll find awesome and will entice you to help us out.

$1,000 is the bear minimum required to allow us to put this performance together and give the audience at Gen Con something to cheer at. Without it, we won't be able to pay any performers, transport any props, rent the required stage equipment, gas up the car, or do anything of that sort. It would be better if we could make even more! If we make over our goal, the extra money will go to making our tour better! Less-cramped rental cars, bigger props, happier performers and better equipment. We'll also be mentioning some stretch goals concerning the different ways we'll be documenting our magical mystery tour later on if things go well enough!

We realize we are no Double Fine here, but we hope that since kickstarter has become a great place for nerds and artists to find support, that you all we be as excited about this endeavor as we are to show off our burlesque (and show off some other things as well - wink wink nudge nudge).
