About this project
I am a professional photographer with a passion for food. I have been photographing food and still lifes ever since graduating from Dawson College’s professional photography program and have since seen these two types of photography merge into something I've decided to call culinary art. I want to showcase this new body of work in a book that will include the recipes that have fueled my love of food. The book will also include a series of essays discussing contemporary environmental issues related to agriculture and food production.
The images will reflect my new approach to food and still life photography, capturing the delicate and evocative aesthetic of the culinary art pieces that I create. The recipes are inspired by my French Canadian and Eastern European heritage and include foods such as Latvian green bean and dill salad, Russian beet borscht, latkes, and bouillabaise. The book will also include my own culinary creations and recipes inspired by my travels such as green papaya salad, samosas, adobo chicken and lentil salad. And the essays, written by Andrew Sanford (http://www.earthalternatives.com), will explore a number of subjects, including ethical eating, sustainable food systems, and environmental impacts of food production.
I am humbly asking for your support in order to achieve my Kickstarter goal. This will enable me to finance the production of the photography, the graphic design and layout of the book, and the writing and editing of the essays and recipes. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, interest, and support. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the project!!
All the very best,
