@David. Mine didn't work at first... but a restart got it all going. Turn Bluetooth off and on, too. Hopefully that will work for you. I've had a few accidental activations in my pocket, but other than that it's been rock solid in connecting.

@Peter - I've received your email at 13/5 saying you have forwarded my case to your customer support department and they will contact me in a timely manner and help me to solve this. Today is 16/5 and your CS is still not contacting me yet. This is really reaaly bad CS service which is unacceptable!

@All - I would meet my lawers next week and consult them about my cases. If you're also having bad experiences with Cookoo watch, please post your comments here such that I can gather our bad experience and discuss with my lawers later on.

Should we place our bad experiences on cookoo facebook such that more people know what they may encounter before they purchase cookoo watch?

I've received my watch on yesterday but find there are some problems for the invoice. The invoice shows the watch value is USD129.99 and the freight fee is USD5.41 and thus the total amount is USD135.4. But the problem is I'm one of the backers in kickstarter who is eligible to use USD80 to buy the watch. I've also pay extra USD15 for the international shipping but I now I find out the shipping fee is only USD5.41 as I live in Hong Kong and your company is using local delivery.

Please answer following questions

1. Why the total amount in the invoice show USD135.4 instead of USD95.
2. If your company is now using local carrier for my case which only costs USD5.41, I think you should refund the extra shipping fee I've pay because it is "local shipping" instead of "International shipping"
3. You say you should send my watch via S.F. Express, but I find out it is delivered via TGX and it is really a big trouble to me.

I'm very angry now because seems your company is lying to consumers. You try to charge more than what I agree to pay, you are lying to ask me to pay for "international shipping" fee but you only pay for cheaper money for "local shipping".

If I cannot receive answer from your company, I would consider taking lawsuit action since your company cannot provide the service as you promised!!!

I too am very disappointed by the lack of support for android devices. I bought the Galaxy S3, and the deciding factor in my purchase was the fact that it should work with the Cookoo because it has Bluetooth 4.0LE. Now, I hear that it will work with the Galaxy S4. Please, fulfill the promises that you have already made instead of making more. At this point the Cookoo is nothing more than a huge watch, which isn't what I backed it for. If I wanted a huge watch I would buy a G-Shock or something. I backed the Cookoo because I thought the android notifications would be really cool and useful, and I was willing to put up with the large from factor. Without the notifications, I never wear it. So, please either make it work with android or give us a good reason for the long delay.

WTF is up with the key fobs? I think the backers are due an update on this issue alone. I personally don't care if I get mine, as I think it will suck every bit as much as the watch does, but it just occurred to me that I still haven't received mine after several months.

"We have had manufacturing issues with the keychains and had to reject several lots already.The keychains are in production now and are planned to ship in may."
That'll be after I move (unless mine is shipped out right at the beginning of may) unfortunately.

"Android Users,

We appreciate and share in your frustration about the state of affairs in Android. The blocking issue in Android is the absence of a crucial, mandatory Bluetooth 4.0 feature in the currently released Android APIs.

This was explained in detail in the letter to Android users in November:(http://cookoowatch.com/images/Letter%20to%20Android%20users%20of%20the%20COOKOO%20watch%2020121121.pdf).

Furthermore, Google pulled Bluetooth 4.0 support entirely out of Android in November, and has yet to announce when their new Bluetooth 4.0 APIs will be available.

Once official access to the new Bluetooth 4.0 APIs is provided, then we will be able to integrate, test, and release an Android app for the COOKOO watch as quickly as possible.

This is our plan of record, and has not changed since we announced it in November.

In the meanwhile, as our iOS app continues to evolve, we are continuing to evolve our Android app though we will not release it without full Bluetooth 4.0 support.

We encourage you, and all of the Android users who want a COOKOO app, to petition Google and your specific phone's manufacturer to take Bluetooth 4.0 seriously and provide a complete API for Bluetooth 4.0 as soon as possible instead of venting at us on our forums.

Wow, well if this is the actual message from Cookoo this is bad news, it means they are expecting to support only devices which are shipped with or get updated to Android 4.2.X or better will be supported. This rules our a large amount of the installed market.

Very disappointing. I've got a Note 2. But won't matter much since I've got my watch on ebay. Even if I get $20 for it, it will be better than having an $80 watch just sit in my drawer unusable.

Lesson learned. I'm not backing any more tech projects. Will only buy once they become available in a retail environment. And I realize my money isn't buying a product, its supporting the development and production of it. But I supported Android development, and looks like I'm getting hosed.

Emailed Cookoo, looks like S3 & Note support has been pulled because of the S4:

Android support is definitely happening and we are working hard on the Samsung Galaxy S4 compatibility.
The Android app release is expected in April.
A proper implementation of Bluetooth low Energy is required, this should be the case with S4.
Keychain will be released within next 10 days.

We cannot confirm for S3 and Notes 2 but strongly expect a firnware update will enable the firmware. It is not the case currently.

I was wrong on the battery draining quickly. I had a charger issue! My Iphone, paired to Cookoo, lasts the day.. what I need. And the Cookoo itself just keeps on ticking. ;-)

This Kickstarter project is having the worst customer service of all projects I backed so far. I had to chase the delivery of my watch. Then got a lame excuse that they could not verify my address. First of all, I never ever had any issues with my address and other projects. The address the cookoo team cinfirmed back to me was correct. Secondly if there was an actual issue with the addrss you would think that the customer support would reach out to me to advise me of the issue.
Also, they nicely put the full retail amount of the watch on the package. Therefore I had to pay import taxes as much as I paid for the watch pledge!!!
