FROM WHAT I SEE THERE IS NO UPDATE FOR ANDROID USERS, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL AS IF ANY EFFORT TO RELEASE AN APP FOR THE ANDROID HAS CEASED. THE WHOLE WEBSITE HAS SHIFTED TO iPhone AND SEVERAL OF MY EMAILS TO YOUR SUPPORT TEAM HAVE NOT BEEN REPLIED TO. I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK, I DID NOT PAY $200 FOR A REGULAR ANALOG WATCH.

I have been sent THREE DEFECTIVE watches . . . this last time I was told by Dennis Bar he would check out a watch and make sure it was OK before sending . . . that was over one month ago . . .I have heard nothing . . NOTHING . . . I do believe I have been had by a team of experts . . . I went so far as to back the KEY CHAIN . . now I have a black thingy that sits in a drawer . . . Next time I do a KICKSTARTER will be NEVER . . .

Have to agree with David Margolis
The complete void of any semblance of development for Android is tremendously frustrating.
Most of the backers here have been quite patient in my opinion, we received our watches last year with guarantees for Android support, which to date has not been received. Not owning a single iOS device, this makes my purchase... a watch. Could have bought myself a watch just about anywhere, and probably a better looking on at that.
Why could the BETA not be released to a select group of backers for testing? Or even posted for general download as a BETA??? This isn't an alpha build, and people understand that Beta indicates that there will be bugs, or even complete lack of functionality.
Very disappointed in the CooKoo teams complete inability to deliver on these guarantees to date.

It would be great if we got more frequent android compatibility information updates. After all use android users currently have an over priced paperweight. I don't know about other backers but i'm getting very annoyed. Please improve the communication.

      Good news for S3 users.
It seems the new Android 4.2.2 for S3 has been leaked: http://www.sammobile.com/2013/05/20/exclusive-i9300xxufme3-android-4-2-2-jelly-bean-leaked-firmware-for-the-galaxy-s-iii/

We have already downloaded it and are evaluating whether it works with our S4 BETA app which is currently in development and testing. We'll keep you informed as we learn more.

      I'm frustrated!
      1. The watch is a piece of brig, as its completely useless because the blue-tooth connection lasts no longer than an hour on the iPhone. I don't need an tamagochi which tells me that it lost connection over and over!
      2. Where is the promised Android-App???? There were 3 updates on the iphone app, but no single andoid release??

We have participated in this project as Android Application was present for this watch.
To this day, you just extended the deadline!
We want a date out of Andrïde app in test and explanations for the delay in this beta.
      I think you owe us!
I ask myself the serious ... or if you do not take advantage of us out this shows that for personal Iphone!
In attendans what should I do with my watch and my smart key fob that I can not use auqu'elle and I do not even know if they work?
I do not even talk about, warranty auqu'elle I still have more than 6 months!
Thank you to inform us and stop us change the release date of the Android app in beta testing.
Although you have a very mécontant customer!

Not that im very disappointed about the overall quality (you always have to light the watch to see if there is a notification), there is still after months no android app.
How about some info about that?
I bought 2 of these cuz of their cool features, the watches are not that cool to wear except for their features so 180$ (Shipping to germany... so its not even worth to ship them back..) and they are just laying around here, not used since they arrived.
Well think I will be more cautions when backing here in the future...

@Shantyboat thanks for the advice. There is a little hole on back that I pushed down with paper clip as well as restarting iphone and it paired. The application for the keyfab should be cleaned up because it has the notifications to turn off calendar email just like the watch. Make it simple so you know what the keyfab can do. Seems confusing.

I backed this project because of the promise of an android app.

@All - we have some exciting news and will be publishing another update for backers only shortly. Stay tuned. You can always find the latest news on our facebook page.

@Logos - I have checked with our CS department, and it seems that they had already responded to you on Monday, May 13th PST regarding your specific situation. Here is an except of what they had written:
      "Hi Leung,

I apologize for any confusion caused by the invoice included in the package with your watch. Please be assured that you were only charged a total of $95.00 for your pledge to the COOKOO project. This includes the $80 for the watch and the $15 add on for non-US shipping. The charge for your pledge was processed on or around July 7, 2012 by Amazon payments--nothing additional has been charged to your account.

The $129.99 price on the invoice in your package reflects the retail value of the watch only--not the amount that you were charged.

In regards to you question about the shipping fees, we had a set shipping fee structure for the Kickstarter campaign. As outlined in the reward levels for the watches, we had free shipping for rewards delivered to the US, $10 shipping for rewards delivered to Canada, and $15 shipping for rewards shipped to any other country (international). These shipping amounts were a flat rate for the services offered by our company and independent of where the watches were being shipped from.

Again, I apologize for any confusion, and can guarantee that we have not charged you more than $95 for your reward."
Please check your spam box or other email filters to ensure that you didn't miss the email.

All - if you have any questions or concerns about your product, please contact our support at support.cookoowatch.com and our support team will be sure to get back to you promptly.

@Peter - I've received your email at 13/5 saying you have forwarded my case to your customer support department and they will contact me in a timely manner and help me to solve this. Today is 16/5 and your CS is still not contacting me yet. This is really reaaly bad CS service which is unacceptable!

@All - I would meet my lawers next week and consult them about my cases. If you're also having bad experiences with Cookoo watch, please post your comments here such that I can gather our bad experience and discuss with my lawers later on.

Should we place our bad experiences on cookoo facebook such that more people know what they may encounter before they purchase cookoo watch?

I've received my watch on yesterday but find there are some problems for the invoice. The invoice shows the watch value is USD129.99 and the freight fee is USD5.41 and thus the total amount is USD135.4. But the problem is I'm one of the backers in kickstarter who is eligible to use USD80 to buy the watch. I've also pay extra USD15 for the international shipping but I now I find out the shipping fee is only USD5.41 as I live in Hong Kong and your company is using local delivery.

      Please answer following questions

      1. Why the total amount in the invoice show USD135.4 instead of USD95.
      2. If your company is now using local carrier for my case which only costs USD5.41, I think you should refund the extra shipping fee I've pay because it is "local shipping" instead of "International shipping"
      3. You say you should send my watch via S.F. Express, but I find out it is delivered via TGX and it is really a big trouble to me.

I'm very angry now because seems your company is lying to consumers. You try to charge more than what I agree to pay, you are lying to ask me to pay for "international shipping" fee but you only pay for cheaper money for "local shipping".

If I cannot receive answer from your company, I would consider taking lawsuit action since your company cannot provide the service as you promised!!!

I too am very disappointed by the lack of support for android devices. I bought the Galaxy S3, and the deciding factor in my purchase was the fact that it should work with the Cookoo because it has Bluetooth 4.0LE. Now, I hear that it will work with the Galaxy S4. Please, fulfill the promises that you have already made instead of making more. At this point the Cookoo is nothing more than a huge watch, which isn't what I backed it for. If I wanted a huge watch I would buy a G-Shock or something. I backed the Cookoo because I thought the android notifications would be really cool and useful, and I was willing to put up with the large from factor. Without the notifications, I never wear it. So, please either make it work with android or give us a good reason for the long delay.

Peter, you ran a despicable Kicstarter project, you have terrible customer service, an apparent ineptness to build a quality product, and you are a fraud. You touted Android support during the entire time you collected our money, waited till after the checks cleared to tell us you lied about it being ready, tap danced around providing us any real update or ETA on this, and now you're gonna just flat out ignore us backers after taking our money?? Shameful. There are apparently still a lot of backers who haven't even received theirs, and I feel for them because I doubt at this point they'll ever receive what they paid for. This was posted on Facebook on March 25.

      "Android Users,

We appreciate and share in your frustration about the state of affairs in Android. The blocking issue in Android is the absence of a crucial, mandatory Bluetooth 4.0 feature in the currently released Android APIs.

This was explained in detail in the letter to Android users in November:(http://cookoowatch.com/images/Letter%20to%20Android%20users%20of%20the%20COOKOO%20watch%2020121121.pdf).

Furthermore, Google pulled Bluetooth 4.0 support entirely out of Android in November, and has yet to announce when their new Bluetooth 4.0 APIs will be available.

Once official access to the new Bluetooth 4.0 APIs is provided, then we will be able to integrate, test, and release an Android app for the COOKOO watch as quickly as possible.

This is our plan of record, and has not changed since we announced it in November.

In the meanwhile, as our iOS app continues to evolve, we are continuing to evolve our Android app though we will not release it without full Bluetooth 4.0 support.

We encourage you, and all of the Android users who want a COOKOO app, to petition Google and your specific phone's manufacturer to take Bluetooth 4.0 seriously and provide a complete API for Bluetooth 4.0 as soon as possible instead of venting at us on our forums.

For your interest, this article puts it succinctly:

Very disappointing. I've got a Note 2. But won't matter much since I've got my watch on ebay. Even if I get $20 for it, it will be better than having an $80 watch just sit in my drawer unusable.

Lesson learned. I'm not backing any more tech projects. Will only buy once they become available in a retail environment. And I realize my money isn't buying a product, its supporting the development and production of it. But I supported Android development, and looks like I'm getting hosed.
