Details on How You Play the Game

Update #4 · Mar 23, 2012 · comment

There is more to playing  Directors Cut Card Game than what is listed below. But this will give you a general idea about this patent pending system.

Playing Directors Cut Card Game

Playing the game takes some strategy and ability to figure out if it’s more helpful to discard your hand or discard your Action cards. Each scene requires a 20 to complete. You use items as well as your skills to complete scenes. There are cards that “Wound” you, meaning that you have to spend more points to survive the scene. There are cards that heal you, allowing you to remove cards that you have already added to your “Discard” pile and add back to your Action deck. Scene cards have consequences, like discarding cards, or trading your hand with another player. Your Action deck is essentially your life points. As you “spend” or “use” your cards, they are added to the Discard pile and your life points decrease. If you get down to zero cards, your character is dead.

Here’s how a turn, or action sequence works. After everyone’s decks are shuffled, a random person is chosen to start the game. After everyone draws their 7 cards, every other player has a chance to “Wound” the starting player, making them spend more points than the necessary 20. Once those cards are in play, the player turns over the first Scene card. They have to resolve the action on that card, whether it means discarding their hand and redrawing their hand, or spending even more of their cards to get through the scene. If the player cannot resolve the scene, they have to spend their cards’ points, whether it is cards from their hand, as well as cards from their Action deck.

There are cards that can really mess with other players, like Take Two that makes them replay a scene. Within the Action decks are action cards. They give bonuses to different skills on archetype cards. Items also add to that bonus. Here’s an example. Claire has an archetype with +4 Blades. If Claire’s archetype has skill number +4 in Blades, she can then add that +4 to each Blade card that is played.

Sarah French To Appear On Promo Card

Update #1 · Mar 16, 2012 · comment

Actress and model Sarah French will appear as a PROMO Card in the Directors Cut Survival Horror Game.
Sarah French is an actress and model from Minnesota. She got her start modeling when she was discovered at a metal concert, her favorite genre of music. She modeled under the name Scarlet Salem. She later had an opportunity to get into acting. Her love was always horror so naturally she gravitated towards those projects using the Scarlet Salem name. To date she has done over 30 films with titles such as Strip Club Slasher, Killer Biker Chicks, In harm's way and Terror Overload. Outside of horror she also plays a Russian assassin in the martial arts film "Opposite Blood" and a Ghostbuster in the online series Ghostbustin 911, which is a mix of Ghostbusters, Reno 911 and Cops. In addition she has been featured in many magazines like Gorezone and Girls and Corpses. She writes a scream queen column for Shock horror magazine. In April 2011 she dropped the Scarlet Salem name and began to use her real name for all future work. Check out her website by clicking here!
