Update #36: GREEN PATRIOT POSTERS Kickstarter - 11 days left to fund - we need your help more than ever!

Posted on August 18

Dear backers,

Production for Project Green comes with its own set of challenges, primarily the time crunch we are now facing.  Oh Kickstarter, it was so much easier to raise funding last year when we weren't in production during a campaign.  I keep "kicking" myself that we chose 44 days instead of the full 60 days.  But, it's not over.  We have 11 days left, and a lot of faith that we will make out goal.  Here comes the big push - it's gotta happen!

Seasons of Change

How do you make a film as "green" as possible?  That is our challenge for Project Green, a sustainable filmmaking initiative launched by NOMAD Films and Global Action Plan Sweden.  We are the only American participants, so this is a big deal - not only for our film on GREEN PATRIOT POSTERS, but also for Creative Migration.

This is the strongest project we have ever embarked on with the best opportunity to get our work out to a global audience.  We have come far in a year, and you have been on this journey with us.  It would mean the world to me if you could pledge again.

Here's some good news to share:

  • LA and NYC crews are all set (volunteers supplying their own equipment)!
  • NYC interviews and locations confirmed - DJ Spooky at Center for Architecture and Michael Bierut at Pentagram
  • NYC accommodations courtesy of Pachyderm Consulting
  • NYC flights courtesy of my frequent flyer miles!
  • recording a Skype message this Friday from Mathilde Fallot for a Kickstarter!!!!
  • planning travel to Stockholm and Paris
  • our mentor, Adriano Valerio has been very helpful in guiding us through our creative process - he's super rad!

Please help Creative Migration make this happen (and as "green" as possible), not only does your pledge help our project, but you get cool rewards and your donation is tax deductible!  Watch our 3.5 minute video to learn more: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/creativemigration/green-patriot-posters-project-green-nomad-films

Love,
Susannah

p.s.  there are a few rewards from the last campaign that I don't have addresses to send out -  please send me a note with your current address so I can get it to you!

"What if the seasons didn't mean anything anymore? And climate behaved unpredictably? You don't really want to hear about global warming but increasingly you will have to." - Mathilde Fallot

Update #35: Our new Kickstarter campaign: 20 days, 21 backers, 20% funded & new developments!

Posted on August 9, 2011

Hello dear backers,

Thanks for your support during our humble beginnings!  Our path has brightened in the past 24 hours for our most ambitious project yet!

We have some exciting new developments:

We are NOW planning to interview Mathilde Fallot in Paris for our ongoing film after Sweden.  She has also agreed to design our official film's poster for GREEN PATRIOT POSTERS!

We have a new part-time assistant - Aleks (Leks) Aouad! Thanks to our pro bono lawyer/board member Jeffrey R. Boxer for his generous donation of paying Leks 10 hours a week to work on Creative Migration.  This is just amazing!

We have a business manager - Debbie Lippert - she is helping us fine tune our finances - preparing our non-profit to get some major funding!

We are scheduling our NYC production for mid-September, so stay tuned for updates...

Thanks to The Canary Project donating 20 books to our campaign, we lowered the reward from $100 pledge to $60!  So if you are so inclined to adjust your pledge, these books are accessible!

More news soon.  Please spread the word, we are totally getting there!  Here's our link - http://kck.st/okd0Yz

Thank you.

Update #29: The web series is launched! Episode 1 is online!!!

Posted on September 21, 2010

Hello Kickstarter friends,

It has been a long, productive SUMMER, the last official day is TODAY. So, in keeping with my promise to launch SUMMER 2010 - here's our first official episode!!!

It was exactly 2 years ago that we started filming Red76 in NYC. It also happened to be the week the financial crisis began in the United States, right before the 2008 Presidential election. It was such an interesting snapshot in history, and I think we captured the energy of that time. Looking now at our first episode, I feel it's even more relevant in our lives today.

On a personal note, it is absolutely unbelievable how well this project has turned out. BIG THANKS to our superstar post production team, Matt Purse and Patrick Ginn. MAD PROPS to our web designer, Devin Sutanujaya. AND, a giant SHOUT OUT to all to YOU (our loyal Kickstarter backers) b/c without you, this literally, would not have launched TODAY!!!

WATCH on our official site: http://www.creativemigration.org/
Or, go directly to our Vimeo page: http://vimeo.com/15017255

PLEASE re-post/blog this on FB, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. Let's get this out into the world and create a change!!

xoxo

Update #27: UPDATE! Official POSTERS! Post Production TEAM! WEBSITE progress! OpsDeck BETA! Berlin or BUST!

Posted on June 30, 2010

Dear friends,

It's exciting times for Creative Migration ...

Please check out images of our stunning, official poster designed by Veronica Corzo-Duchardt (winterbureau http://www.winterbureau.com) / printed by Sonnenzimmer (http://sonnenzimmer.com)! Veronica is also the mastermind behind our beautiful logo. The posters are currently en route to Los Angeles via Chicago!

I have put together a fantastic post production team! Matt Purse (Technicolor) is overseeing all our editing needs & Patrick Ginn (Soundelux DMG) is handling our post sound. I'm doing a fair amount of the editing as well, so we're now moving along swimmingly!

Our fantastic web designer, Devin Sutanujaya (http://www.delusionalgrande.com) has designed a temporary splash page which goes live this week while our main site should launch by the end of August along with the entire first mini-series (12 episodes)!!!!!

CM is now a Beta customer for OpsDeck (http://www.opsdeck.com) which is an innovative, fundraising platform for nonprofits. Much like Kickstarter, OpsDeck is all about transparency, giving donors the chance to see where their money goes & how we use it! This is an amazing opportunity to invent new ways to fuel our organization!

And last, but not least, we are in pre-production to shoot the next mini-series in Berlin for Summer 2011. It's called "Chasing the Berlin Dream." I will update you as this project develops. We have almost an entire year to raise $50,000. I believe we can do it!!!

Thanks for all your continued support. Hope you are having a gorgeous SUMMER!!!

Love,
Susannah
