This was a documentary about you making a documentary. I feel so gipped backing this.
Creator Giseli de A. Ramos on November 1, 2012
I'm glad that I could back this project. I only miss the english subtitles. It is possible in the future? :) Thanks!
Creator jedy on September 5, 2012
THIS. IS. AWESOME. - I really loved watching this! English subtitles would be great for better understanding but It's just awesome movie. Thanks, guys, I'm so much glad I could back this! I'm gonna graduate, expand my internet income (I owe to Pat Flynn so much!) and travel around the world!
Everyone should see "I'm Fine, Thanks"!
Creator Pauline Helen on August 31, 2012
wow, well done guys!
Loved it, especially the interviews for helping me realize I'm not the only crazy questioning the core values of this society. Can't wait to buy it!!
Creator Shelley Burton on August 20, 2012
Just watched it! Good work - just wish it was longer!
Creator Collin Ferry on August 20, 2012
Watched it yesterday for the first time - wonderful work guys, I'm so glad I backed this project!
Creator Ariel Constantinof on August 20, 2012
Is there any chance of getting some english subtitles - it's really hard to follow some of the people in the movie if you are not a native speaker. :)
After watching it two times i think you guys did a great job and the movie is really-really inspiring.
I just hope for some subtitles now!
Creator Gene Jennings on August 17, 2012
I watched it earlier this week and loved it! Great job, guys!
Creator Conrad Buck on August 16, 2012
Just watched the film and haven't read through all the comments below, so this is just my thoughts out of the gate. i did enjoy and the film and am glad I backed it. There were some great profiles and great people. Jonathan Fields story was particularly inspiring, I did find the doc suddenly ended, really quickly at the end without much of a take away lesson or story. i also found that although its great to profile all these people, how did they get to where they wanted to go? Much of the interviews were on the build up and then, nothing. No, "this is what I did to get there" or "this is what my message to people who want to change is". i really expected the first half to be interviews on "i'm miserable" and then the second half the real value which would have been "this is what i did" and "this is what you need to do"
I'm nearly there on my dream so this doc helped keep me going but for people still stuck in that rut, feeling trapped, i don' t know if it speaks "you can do it by doing this" or just lets them know there are plenty of other people hating their lives in this world so you may as well keep joining them.
Creator Katie on August 14, 2012
While I agree with many comments/suggestions (too short, documentary about a documentary, etc), I found it quite inspiring and supportive. Just before this movie was released, I quit my research job to pursue teaching. I needed that support to believe in my dream and bravely embark on a new start. Thanks for sharing your dreams and your inspiration!
Creator Crank Tank Studios on August 14, 2012
Hey, everyone - thanks for all the feedback (positive and negative). The far majority of responses are positive, but we do value criticism too. We made tough choices (and thought hard about them) when having Grant's story carry the film - and not making it longer. Ultimately, we chose what we thought would make for the best story and the biggest impact for someone that needed help/inspiration. We wanted to tell a powerful story in the shortest time frame possible (no padding or fluff for extra minutes). While we realize not everyone will like every choice - we appreciate you taking the time to respond. For those who were inspired by the movie, please keep sending your stories and actions as a result of the movie! :)
Creator Lew Ayotte on August 14, 2012
Hey guys, got to watch the movie last night... couple of things:
1) You have a bunch of grammatical errors in the end when talking about the creators (I didn't notice any during the bits about interviewees).
2) There seems to already be disappointment about the length of the film. I think it could have been 30 minutes longer with more video of the interviewees talking about the positive changes they've made in their lives to write their own "script".
For a first documentary, I think you guys did really well and you obviously struck a chord with people on kickstarter who are struggling with the pressures of fitting into societies prebuilt script. By the way, the fact that this was a journey also about the director wasn't bad as some people are saying. I think that was a good concept, but I agree that it felt like it was missing something.
Creator Ron Risman on August 13, 2012
Why haven't I received a link to view the movie? Others have seen it and there's a link to a website for Kickstarter backers - yet I have not been given a login. Am I missing something?
Creator Dave P on August 13, 2012
I was impressed and got that everyone was passionate about the documentary but I have to say I was overall disappointed. Firstly, for a documentary it's very short. At 68 minutes long it's just not enough. Surely there was a load more people interviewed? I mean the 8 mins at the end is mostly credits!! Secondly, (like someone has said here before me) it does feel like a documentary about a documentary. It feels like a lot of the real meat of the journey got cut.
I did get a few useful ideas from this film but I can't see myself ever re-watching it I'm afraid. Here's hoping an extended cut comes out in the near future.
2/5 from me.
Creator Stephen Greene on August 12, 2012
I agree with the previous post.
I was hoping for lots of stories from inspiring individuals who had struggled with, and overcome, the pressures put on them to lead conventional lives, not a documentary about making a documentary - it seems you got everyone's backing to go on a road trip and make a documentary about a road trip.
Whilst I understand that the story of the film being made was also a story of breaking through convention and fear, the fact that the story of making the documentary seems to be the majority of the film seems to me to border on self obsession.
As the previous comment states "What a waste".
Creator Chris Mack on August 12, 2012
Such a great concept. I'm disappointed by the movie. Everything related back to Adam (or whoever). Honestly - what a wasted opportunity. You could have done so much with this concept, and you chose to make it all about you. What a waste.
Creator Alexander on August 11, 2012
Just Watched it, Awesome movie! Really inspirational, will be showing to the rest of my family :)
I was hoping it would have been a bit longer though, at only 68 minutes, it was short and powerful, but I saw there was a tonnn of other people you interviewed (3500 hrs it stated in the movie?) An extended version, or even some shorts of others stories would be great I Think :)!?
Creator ProjectOverload on August 10, 2012

Creator Maureen Anderson on August 3, 2012

Creator Sandy on August 2, 2012
Take your time and do it right. It was obvious your schedule was too aggressive when you first put it out.
Creator Crank Tank Studios on August 2, 2012
Hey everybody, please do check out the updates page. Since we can't reply to individual comments on Kickstarter (unfortunately, there's no "threaded" feature), that's the best way to get all the updates! Today's update shares the time frames for downloads, DVDs and so on - so please check it out!
Creator Josue Medina on August 2, 2012
When will we get our downloads? I see a lot of people asking this and the lack of response by Crank Studios is kind of disturbing.
Creator Scott Hathaway on August 1, 2012
Hey Congrats on the early success, but when are the files going to be available for download?
Creator Charles Green on August 1, 2012
I have the same question everyone else has. Is there an updated ETA?
Creator Sascha Friesike on July 30, 2012
would be thrilled to finally see the movie. is it that tough to upload a mp4 file?
Creator Hidayat Shariff on July 26, 2012
I've yet to receive the soft copy of the documentary. I thought i will receive it on July?
Creator Kathleen Fraser on July 22, 2012
Hi there, I made a clerical error when entering my mailing address for my copy of the DVD. I've tried to change it online (which I am told is not possible) and I've send a couple of emails asking for the change to be made, but haven't heard anything yet? Please let me know if there is another way I can change my contact information prior to the mailing of the video as I'd really like to receive my copy. Cheers, Kathleen
Creator Yvonne Woo on July 12, 2012

Very indie film friendly city, we just finished the 48 Hr Film Project, check with the Riverview Theater (http://www.riverviewtheater.com) for a screening, they screened all the 48 Hr Films, also we have a very cool restaurant that supports and screens indie films at their place in Mpls, Crooked Pint Ale House (http://crookedpint.com).
