About this project

We are excited to announce we’ve begun the daunting task of writing and recording our first full-length record. We feel this is the perfect time in our careers for us to start that process. It is a scary task, but one we approach with all boldness and faith. We are pouring every ounce of creative energy we can muster into this project and already we are seeing some exciting results in the songwriting process.

Here is what we know so far. The record will be produced by Matt Noveskey, bassist for the band Blue October and producer of our last single, Paper Ghost. He has a killer ear and is a lot of fun to work with. Next up on the roster is engineer and mixer Adam Hawkins. Adam lives in LA and is also really talented. After hearing his work on Switchfoot’s latest record, Hello Hurricane, we knew he was a guy we wanted to work with. We can’t wait to get into the studio with these guys. There is no telling what will happen. The recording process has been scheduled for the first few weeks in August, at two different studios in and around Austin.

So here is where things get scary. To make this record we’ll need about $20,000. That is a huge number, but we have faith and trust that it will be provided. One of the ways that we are hoping to reach our goal is through fundraising. We will be attempting to raise $10,000 here on Kickstarter. In return for donations we will be giving away awesome exclusives like free music, unreleased demos, t-shirts, vinyls, signed posters, etc.

Friends, we will need your help. We can’t even begin to say how unbelievably blessed we are to have you as fans, friends, and family. We want you to know that you have just as much potential to make this record a reality as we do. We also want you to know that we are dedicated to making the best possible record we can. We invite you to join with us in this endeavor.

Thank you in advance for your donations.

Sincerely,

Austin, Rob, Nathan and Philip

The title of Courrier’s first studio release, Like the Cold of Snow in the Time of Harvest, is a fitting description of the boys from Austin, Texas. Like a new wind in an often dry and monotonous music ”business,” Courrier’s music is refreshing indeed. With a penchant for melody in the likes of alternative-rock bands like Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, and Radiohead, Courrier writes songs as soothing as they are sincere. It is in this duality that Courrier finds their message. In the beauty of existence and the pain of experience, lead singer Austin Jones’ voice even reflects the honeyed grit of reality, while the ascending harmonies and radiant guitars anthem the intimate.

Armed with a collection of songs as dynamic live as they are personal in your headphones, Courrier’s music shines amidst the shadows of a changing industry, assuring music fans of a few simple truths. A rock sung can still be sung like a hymn. A band should be more than a single. The words fans and friends should be synonymous. And finally, you don’t have to be the first to know about a band to enjoy them. So whether you are a new fan or an old friend, you are appreciated.
